Buckland is ripping uppercuts into the body of his taller opponent. Dodd is clapping his aureate gloves off the back of Buckland's head as he's leaned forward going to work. Buckland is forcing a double jab up into Dodd's chin, pulling back only a quarter of the way after extending the first time. Dodd is jumping around Buckland lining up long triple left jabs to hold Buckland at bay and setting up a right from a comfortable distance.

So according to Sky this is "A great night of really competitive fights" then :good

 

Watt being very critical of Buckland in the opener, saying he "isn't putting enough thought into what he's doing" and soaked up too many clean punches.

I didn't see a ton clean from Dodd, myself. Lots of his jabs hit glove or skidded off the back of Buckland's head. (illegal area)

 

I agree, disgusting, I hope Saunders is fined.

 

Nice to see you scoring that fight. But do you honestly think Dodd is gonna hit a shot besides the shot he's having in a pub in an hour?:rofl

 

I've got a feeling Buckland is going to blow himself out here.

 

Round 2

Buckland is thrusting his lead foot in and planting it while raising his forearms clamped tight over his face. Dodd is standing tall, using the breadth of the large apron to keep Buckland stomping after him, never quite in position to get off his body salvos. Buckland keeps lunging eagerly with the jab at the belly, hoping to feel his way and then start to spray leather once he makes contact. Dodd very cleverly skittering about the ring, using lots of diagonals, fake-dashes and directional changes. Buckland is pressuring steadily but walking into uppercuts and finding his target a phantom.

Buckland is loading up with every shot, I can't see him keeping this pace up for that much longer.

"Masher" looks lovely and relaxed still.

Round 3

Buckland is whipping right hands up against the side of Dodd's neck and hooking into his ribs with the left as he sets himself on the inside. Dodd is backing up and placing the 1-2 in between the eyes of Buckland, steadily and calmly delivering counter-punches down the zip-line as Buckland hurtles into him repeatedly throwing body combos. Dodd lands a series of straight punches and Buckland starts to whirl his upper body around in place with his arms down, trying a bit of fancy defense but with Dodd still grazing him. Gum shield out.
