It's one of the best punches in the game (A Money Mayweather signature punch). Ray has also used this punch to great success. Not to the success of Money Mayweather but he used it well, especially in the fight against T.Hearns Does so much for you, steals air, sets up different punches, used as a range measuring tool, it's a long ranged weapon (Don't have to be susceptible to short damage shots yourself!!) etc etc. Ward also uses this punch very frequently. It's a damn shame more boxers don't use it.
if it can be imbedded in your style it is a valuable punch. Like said, Kova uses it, and even knocks people down with it.
When I boxed I caught a horrible right hand counter to the f$&king melon while jabbing to the body. Gotta admit, I wasn't to keen to use that shot much after that. I suppose you have to have real good timing and quickness to pull off that shot consistently without getting cracked. A good reach advantage doesn't hurt either, like Floyd and Krusher usually enjoy.
Jmm and Maravilla used it with alot of success. Jmm used it to set up the big right hand that caused the 1rst knockdown in his epic fight with Pacman.Mosley wisely used it to set up the big right hand he caught Floyd with in rnd 2. Nobody uses jab to body as much as Floyd tho. Jab to the body usually leads to a good outcome and sign of a great fighter, regardless of what style he brings.
Move to your right and feint upstairs. It's like landing a left hook to the body, you have to set it up first. You don't want to leave yourself open to somebody's power hand, big no-no.
Kovalev uses it, Klitschko uses it, Lomachenko uses it, Golovkin uses it, Gvozdyk uses it. Usyk uses it.:deal
I think it can be effective after a jab to the head to bring the gloves up, and then the jab to the body.
