Mayweather's PPV drawing power not exactly what you might think

    Don't get me wrong Floyd drawing power can't be argued but its definitely exaggerated

    The numbers in for the berto fight proves that without a latino fighter or a big ppv star Floyd goes back to drawing 300/400 buys

    Mayweather despite being P4P 1 drew 400 000 buys with berto

    Could you guys imagine how his ppv numbers would be if he took a loss?

    I will say it if mayweather lost he would not even make 100 000 ppv buys

    A real PPV STAR is even though you lost fights or even been knocked out fans will still pay to watch you fight that's remarkable.

    I don't think it's what YOU think it is. Name a fighter that can sell on his own? Floyd isn't much different than anyone else.

    Pac for example has much more fans who pay to watch him fight because they enjoy his fights not because they hate him

    Floyd has more fans that hate him then love him.

    proof?

    Pac despite losing and being knocked out drew 800 000 buys with Bradley(Bradley is unknown and does not have a big fan base)

    You honestly think if Floyd lost he would even sell more then 200 000 buys?

    Doesn't matter what we think or how we feel. You're arguing something that can't be measured. Who cares WHY people pay to watch?

    its a fact though alex I don't understand why you cant just accept the truth?

    Only reason why people watch Floyd is because they hate him not because of his brilliance in the ring.

    Floyd himself said he acted this way so people could pay to watch him he knew he could not get their attention in the ring


    Pac for example never new a word of English the only thing he had going for him was he could get peoples attention but what he did in the ring.

    1. P4P status has little to do with PPV buys.
    2. I didn't buy the fight, it's a poor match up and not worth the money.
    3. People who pay to see Floyd lose are idiots. They lose, not Floyd.
    4. I don't care why the fights sold, fact is, they did. I never said Floyd was more popular, just that he consistently sells more, which is a FACT.

    What is there for me to accept? That people don't like him? I know they don't, and I really don't care. I never said what you say is true or untrue, just irrelevant.

    Floyd is not popular its just he has more people who hate him

    Floyds not more popular then even cotto or canelo let alone Pac

    The difference is Floyd got people to hate him and created this persona out the ring that worked for him

    If Floyd took a loss he could not even draw 100 000 ppv buys

    A friend of mine went to the fight and he had also went to the Canelo and first Maidana fights. He said there were far less Hispanic fight fans in the arena. Its the first thing he noticed.

    The majority of Floyd's PPV and ring attendance are his opponents fans not his.

    That's not true because none of his opponents have even come close to doing big numbers in their other fights. People pay largely buy his fights hoping to see him lose. The more they genuinely believe his oppone t poses a threat, the more it will sell.

    I always felt his drawing power was assisted by the mexican holidays plus having a mexican star like alvarez on his cards

    his 2 biggest fights prior to pacquiao were mexicans on mexican holidays

    he even fought hispanic fighters like guerrero and maidana on mexican holidays

    but he is a star but fighting berto was never gonna sell, there were no ads til the week of, no one knew he was fighting there was no buzz

    Bradley was ranked pfp. Berto was unknown, unranked and nobody thought he had a single chance. the fact that he sold 400 k is pretty good. plus is it even confirmed those were the numbers yet? very few peiple could sell 400k ppv against an opponent with no chance. some fighters wont even get 400k people to watch such figgt for free
