Not counting Tyson-Douglas, what do you see as boxing biggest ever upset?

Off the top of my head the biggest upsets I recall were Tarver - Jones, Lewis - Rahman, (I called the win for Holyfield over Tyson so I can't use that one.) Spinks over Holmes, L. Spinks over Ali, Sanders over Wlad was a pretty big upset. I could probably add another 15-20 fights but I don't see the point and most of them have already been mentioned.

I voted other. Its Rahman KO Lennox Lewis to me. But Tyson-Douglass was in a class by itself.

Honeyghan-Curry. Happened when I was in high school, didn't see that one coming.Especially with Curry's status. Duran-Moore a close second, and Davey should've sat that one out with his tooth.

    Tyson-Douglas was a huge upset at 42 to 1.
Where does 8 to 1 register on that scale?
    About a 2.

42/1 though was a desperate hotel (Mirage) trying to cover a substantial bet on Tyson. Even those odds were not taken.

So 42/1 was not the real odds of a Buster win.

Whatever the odds were on Tyson-Douglas, you can be sure they were much greater than 8-1.

Said with 25 years of hindsight: Is a one on one contest between legitimately two of the best ten fighters in the world going to see one fighter win much more than eights time in nine?

Tyson had an aura around him (I brought as much as most), but looking at history even the best often struggle to string together eight or so wins in a row against other top ten contenders.

8-1 is a huge upset. :deal

You don't need to tell me 42-1 are longer odds than 8-1.
