Marbella sounds like stupid place to have a gym, seen loads of pics of the boxers drinking in partys, Saunders conditioning was **** so ye have to put 2 and 2 together and obiously the lads out there are being distracted by the strip which cant be easy to ignore for anyone

They need a 'breakthrough fighter' - a genuine 'star quality' operator = the rising tide caused by such a boxer will then lift the whole gym.

Marbella is a bit iffy though, apart from the 'social life distractions' its just too bloody hot for serious heavy training for much of the year.
    (Fab holiday place though!)

Well, I dont know, to answer the question.
You would think Barnes would do well as a pro - but he is getting on a bit and there are no guarantees in life or in boxing.....

Lets hope Mick makes a better pro than his big brother....

Frampton to fight 2 fights within 5 months seems a bit too much. Hes world champion and normally most would only fight 3 fights in a year if they can. Depending on injuries and that. I think if they can sort out a fight by the end of the year it pushes the Quigg or LSC fight out into maybe late March early April for me depending on how hard the fight is and if he doesnt pick up any injuries. IF the fight with Quigg is made great be it the end of the year or Feb I think that would be the best option rather trying to fit in a mandatory fight before it.

Surely they couldn't be messin about with their training either, ye know? So I'd imagine they'd have some top trainers for them.

news from irish boxing.com.... hearn seems hopeful:good:good

There is still a few hurdles to overcome, but Eddie Hearn claims he remains hopeful a deal can be reached and Carl Frampton and Scott Quigg will finally fight in early 2016.

Hearn revealed early in the week that he would have a sit down meeting with Cyclone Promotions a company the IBF super bantamweight champion has a share in and stressed he was hopeful the pair could agree terms for the eagerly anticipated dust up.

Speaking to the Mail Online today the Matchroom boss stressed he was happy with how the meeting went and suggested ‘hurdles’ had been overcome.

“I don’t want to jinx things but we are making decent ground on the fight everyone wants to see between Scott Quigg and Carl Frampton.

“I think everyone realises the time is now and I’m hopeful a deal can be reached in the next few weeks.

“I met with the McGuigans in London on Tuesday and many of the previous problems and hurdles have been overcome, but there is still a long way to go and a lot to talk about. I really feel that we have taken a positive step.”

Cyclone Promotions have yet to comment on the possibility of a New Year clash, but silence shouldn’t be corkscrewed as negative in terms of talks, as they usually do their business behind closed doors and very rarely comment on speculation

This fight will be an anticlimax. Frampton inside 3 rounds. Easy nights work.

This is a recently developed attitude Leighton. Time was when 2 fights in 5 months would be too FEW fights.

Really 3 fights a year is far too little. At that rate you are only a part-time boxer! Even with current trends of fighting a few times a year,a guy like Frampton, in his prime, should be fighting at least 4-5 times per calender year.

I often feel thats what will happen too! In a way, I hope you're wrong and it is a good competitive fight, leading to a rematch, even a trilogy. I find it hard to see any area that Quigg is better than Frampton. Body-punching maybe? Size? Thats about it when you take a cold-blooded look at the two men.

I agree that frampton could make this look too easy when he finally fights Quigg:deal
