I'd have to say it worked in terms of publicity because even my local newspaper had a wire service story about the batman costume. And that paper almost never covers anything to do with boxing.

Stamina and work rate is Wlad weakness and Furys strength. Just accept it and stop trying to spin it like its not.

You say exactly the same thing for Kubrat Pulev. How he have the best stamina in the HW, how he was faster then Klitschko, how Klitschko will gas, how Pulev will outbox him and blq, blq, blq ....
Its one thing to show cardio against 3rd level boxer and complete different againt the pace that Champ put on you. Klitschko always control the fight and the pace.
Same things go for MMA. People were thinking how good cardio Dos Santos have, when he face Velasques(2 and 3 match) hes work rate destroy Santos and hes stamina was done after 3-4 minutes ....
There is a big difference when you face bums and when fighting top dogs.
Klitschko show many time that he have 1 of the best stamina in the game and know how to pace himself.
And btw Pulev do have great stamina, but after 3 round with Klitschko hes stamina drop greatly.
And dude i like both Pulev and Fury. I do think Fury is great boxer, he is underrated, he can box for sure and his height and reach help him and can trouble a lot of guy.
The chin thing is usless, cause this is HW, every punch can KD or KO you.
Anyway i expect good fight and Wlad win. But everything can happen, Klitschko is 40 year old, while Fury is 27 at his prime, while Wlad is past it for sure.

There is a time and place for clowning around and in a press conference for a title shot against an ATM for all of the HW belts, it is not the place or time to be bringing in circus costumes.

It shows how desperate Tyson is to milk his own publicity because he certaintly doesn't believe his performance alone is going to be enough to have his name remembered.

So it's easier to resort to shock tactics to appeal to the little englanders who are drunk and think toilet humour is witty.

 

That press conference as great for the sport. Boxing is a spectator sport and people watch to be entertained. If every fighter could be as charismatic as Fury , they would be.

It was pantomime stuff. Yes stand up and do your trash talking, but dressing up as batman and bringing in one of his cousins to dress up as the joker, you find hilarious and entertaining?

Fury as much as I like him, turned the whole presser into dumb wwe style circus. Made boxing look like a joke.

People don't watch pressers to be entertained as if they are at the circus, they watch them to get idea how each fighter is mentally prepared before the fight and to see if either fighter can gain a psychological edge when given the chance to speak or through the stare down.

Yeah , along with the rest of the world. Fury went mainstream with his antics yesterday. The feedback was all strongly positive. People i know who can't stand Fury even admitted it was entertaining.

I agree Mr Edge, I watched a little bit of it again today and Fury looked a complete d***.

It was bizarre, it made no sense to me then and makes no sense to me now.

Fury is setting himself up for a long period of ridicule. If Wladimir blows him away he will never live any of this down.
