Prescisely, Fury is an instinctively intelligent man rather than a rote learned one. Klitschko droned on for 10 minutes with journalists yawning (he apologised for this too) whilst Fury sold the fight in three stages (like Shakespeare), part one aiming at the people who NEVER even watch boxing: the outfits worked Fury trended on Twitter the videos went viral, part 2 (for casual boxing fans) he shouted at Wlad and had had to be held back, part 3 (for the committed/ a few hardcore) he dissected Wladimir's resume that 99% of viewers wouldn't be familiar with. A very smart guy. And one who should be able to exhaust an old man into a late stoppage IMO
He is an entertainer. And he entertains, to the best of his ability. I meet enough geniuses at work, sometimes its nice to relax and laugh at a simple fellow's antics.
He is trying to sell to a crowd that finds Will Ferrell (or however you spell his name) funny so obviously, he has to dumb it down significantly. He dressed as a batman because most american fans grew up reading comic books instead of real books, so they would recognize him. Wlad has the german fans enthralled. Fury has the brits. Now Fury also has the americans.
Fury is a clown, no doubt, but he's doing his best to get under WLad's skin and to sell the fight. I think that he has managed to do both. Would be nice to see Klitschko let his hands fly for this one.
It got people talking which is all he wanted. Why do people take boxing so seriously. Its people punching each other in the face and you want gentlemanly conduct? christ. Is it any more childish or stupid than saying im gonna whoop you or im from the mean streets of xyz ? Press conferences are ****ing dull so anything different is appreciated by most.
