I think Beterbiev will crush Kovalev on neutral ground and the hype around Kovalev will never be the same again.

Donaire. i thought he would be the next filipino superstar after manny pacquiao. then rigondeux happened.

Canelo. I thought he would be the next mexican legend after morales , barrera and marquez but i realized he still has far too much too learn

Slightly off-topic but I definitely don't fall for the hype of Spence and Thurman.

Juan Diaz.after watching him destroy freitas and Julio Diaz I favored him over manny pacquiao.
Fernando Vargas.thought he would beat Mosley before both of their fights.
Zab Judah.fancied him to tko cotto as did many others at the time.i gave up on him after that.

Was high on Nonito Donaire for a good stretch there, though I never overrated him. He lost to two really good opponents in Rigo and Walters, which is nothing for him to be ashamed of.

Since when was Donaire hype? Guy has won belts at five divisions.

    I'm a bit too cynical, I think.

That said, if you go back through my posts on this forum, some fighters I've talked up since the infancy of their careers would be Anthony Joshua, Callum Smith & Luke Campbell.

I predicted very early on that all 3 would become world champions, and I stick by that.

Too often too, I think, people would call someone a hype-job because they suffer a defeat after they've achieved so much.

Example; people on this thread have mentioned Kovalev - regardless of whether he loses eventually or not, there's no way the guy can be considered a hype-job. He holds practically all the belts at his weight. To a lesser-extent, guys like Broner - there obviously is and was a lot of hype surrounding him (mostly 'The next Floyd Mayweather' BS), but can a two-weight world champ truly be a hype-job? Broner's issue is his lack of application.

A hype-job to me, is someone who is supposedly going to conquer the world but ends up doing nothing - like David Price, or Fraudley Harrison.
