As we all know former LHW Byrd stopped superheavyweight Vits, but who was the smallest one you can see stopping Vitali eg former SMW, MW, LMWs.

For instance LW Sam Langford might well be able to "birdie" Vits.

well Bryd did it and for a heavyweight he's pretty small. Tyson might be able to, perhaps even Toney with a bodyshot the way he stopped Holyfield. Maybe Jones hard to say.

well I dunno. Byrd was from three divisions, lower than Vitali and managed it. Perhaps four divisions down if you include that vitali is a superheavy.

Come to think of it was anyone ever stopped by someone from 4 divisions down, when we are considering the HW title?

I think Vitali may hold the record for going down to the relatively smallest opposition ever.

oh wait up, John Ruiz, was he technically a "superheavy"? He got outpointed by Jones Jnr.

Mind you Jones junior was an ATG, not like byrd.

ANd furthermore that was merely a points win, whereas Byrd stopped vitali in the single figure rounds. Vits loss is way more worse.

Vits is below John Ruiz in this regard, then.

no, that's wrong,. my research tells me Ruiz was in fact 20 pounds lighter than Vitali, and not a real superheavyweight.

Therefore Vitalis loss was not just merely worse than Ruiz....It was massively worse.

I find this a great shame, since Vitali is my favourite K bro, but the facts are there, he was massively worse compared to one of the worst titlists in HW history.

I could maybe see Sugar Ray Leonard lasting long enough for Vitali to injure his shoulder.

hmm if vits is so bad in this comparison, worse than Ruiz, much worse, then why are threads for Vitali vs Frazier being made. To mention Vitali alongside an ATG is a joke.

How on earth would Langford do that?

Dance round him, make him hit a lot of air while working downhill, set him up for traps.

Give him 20 rounds to work with, and he will take Vitally into deep water, and drown him.

Only way little Langford wins this one is if he sneaks a bear trap into Vitali's corner. Can you imagine the pre-fight staredown (and stareup)? Would have been an all-time iconic image.

Langford fought guys as tall as Vitally, and the audience reaction was as you would predict.

Yeah, I think I read about an exhibition once where the audience laughed like it was some kind of clown show. Did he fight any giants as muscular and ripped as Vitali? (I think that would add to the spectacle)

There was nobody like Vitally back then, but there were limited fighters of similar stature, and they were getting beaten up by an ancient Langford.

I can’t tell you what to do with your life, but you might want to read Clay Moyle’s book on Sam Langford.

It might not change your mind, but it would tell you a lot.
