That's true. How's the expression go? "In the land of the blind the one eyed man is king."

HW is not exactly talent filled right now. I do like Jennings, though. That guy has talent. Very unimpressed with Brazealle tonight, however.

Wilder doesn't finish these fights early on purpose. I despise him for fighting such poor opposition since winning the belt but I also fail to see how most people can't see this either.

you said he wasn't "world champion level". He's more an NABF kind of guy.

The number #3 heavyweight is NABF level?

    There are, what, 4 belts?

    Round 1

Martin is sticking the right jab and sweeping hooks off it. Sandez is sagging into a seated position, loading up a right hand and tossing it crookedly over the top, very easily spotted & dodged by Martin. Slicing right hook on the flabby gut by Martin. Sandez is cowed into a corner by the feinted southpaw jab. Martin just sticking his right arm out into Sandez's face without snapping it. Flush left hand by Martin.

    10-9 Martin

Deontay should grow him out some dreads like Charles Martin since he likes Voodoo masks anyway.

That would make sense if FDR (undoubtedly a hero of yours) didn't greatly admire Mussolini for making the trains run on time. Socialism with a gun. Next time someone refers to a conservative as a fascist maybe they should revisit the history of progressivism and it's relationship to fascism.

As you pointed out, he could be at that level now given how the division looks. I'd have to go over other possibilities before putting him there, though.

Guys with lesser belts (NABF) can be prospects or guys who just aren't quite at that top level. When I see Wilder I think of someone like a Michael Grant (who was a NABF titlist). Tall, athletic, power, talent. But just missing some tools, missing some skills.

I also think of John Ruiz. Was Ruiz a Top-4 guy when he had the belt? I don't think he was, but he and his group were able to get the belt and they did a good job putting him in fights against maybe not the best opposition.

    Round 2

Martin is laying the right jab on Sandez and FLOORS HIM WITH A LEFT CROSS. Sandez is sitting there, dazed. Up at eight. He tries approaching the ref but can barely keep his legs under him, swaying. Martin lines up a 1-2, but just feints with it. Sandez throws a wide right hand and tries hooking up high, reaching for Martin's chin. Martin is well beyond Sandez's reach and playing congas on his head. Martin carrying his hands low but showing mastery of range, not paying for it even as Sandez lunges at him with slow power shots, headhunting and missing by miles. Long body pokes by Martin. Double roundhouse left upside the noggin by Martin.

    10-8 Martin

    20-17 Martin
