He actually has a couple of decent feathers in his cap already.

On a few occasions he was matched up with fellow prospects and each time lots of people were picking against him based on the other guy's credentials (Dawejko, Thompson, Flores, Hernandez) - and he beat all of them, stopping most.

He also has destroyed all the gatekeepers he stepped in with.

Poor opposition at the world title fight level.

You must be if you think Wilder's career is to be taken any more seriously than, say, Ali Raymi's.

FFS he beat Stiverne to become 'heavyweight champ'.

Stiverne who fought Chris Arreola of all people for a vacant title.

Stiverne who got outboxed (easily) for several rounds by ancient Ray Austin of all people.

Stiverne who got hurt & overwhelmed (even if the stoppage was poor) by Demetrice King of all people.

You really don't think Martin could whoop Stiverne? Or any of Wilder's competition?

Charles Martin just showed the proper way to get rid of an overmatched opponent.

Poor opposition, no doubt but still better than anyone Wilder faced before the title shot at Stiverne. But that just shows the quality of our WBC champion's resume

What does this have to do with anything that happened today? You had this comment laid out days before, and were excited to post this IB, lmao...!!!??? Really?

Wilder beat Stiverne with relative ease and Martin is still learning. Wlad is the champ and until Wilder fights him, he's a paper champion.

He is very solidly built (kind of like Stiverne, perhaps even more thickly muscled and yet distributed in a more streamlined manner, not stiff and bulky...and he is very lithely agile for his size), quick-handed when he puts combinations together, and while he is still developing and making some mistakes he seems to be learning and has good instincts and judgment and is patient in breaking his opponents down...traits which speak to having a foundation toward building a high ring IQ, which combined with his physical gifts would make him very formidable. Oh and he's a southpaw.

He is being developed appropriately, I think. Not rushed. Just brought along steadily, improving each time out...

He literally did. Rewind it. "I'd love to get Wilder!", first question of the interview.
