was buglioni better under tibbs?

    Chudinov was an excelent technician. An accurate, economical iron man like Tony Zale. Perhaps he always would gave beaten Buglioni at this stage but was Franks tactics right?

    Under Tibbs Frank was more of a forward footed box puncher using his range. Chudinov was short and right there in front of Buglioni the whole time. I don't see why the plan should have been to move away when he could have met him head on with longer shots on the way in?

    Against Chudinov last night Frank was exhausting himself dancing away far too early on in the fight where he should have been using his energy trying to establish a foothold whilst Frank was still fresh.

    Instead, against an albeit better fighter, Buglioni faded way too early and had little left by the time things settled down. The way Buglioni coped "running on empty" late in the fight I feel he could gave stood a better chance conserving his efforts earlier on with more conventional boxing.

    No, I think he is a better fighter now than he was then. I think he has hit his ceiling now though.

    Based on what? He was utterly outclassed last night from the second the bell went to the second the fight ended.

    He couldn't even beat Lee Markham under Collins ffs. :lol:

    He never fought anyone under Tibbs, Chudinov is far better than Khomitsky, and while outclassed, looked better.

    The few times he did try staying there behind straight shots he was getting beat by chuds jab. a point that i thought dhoildnt of been happening.
    He was on the back foot from 1st bell u are right but like i ssid when he did stop to trade jabs he was getting beaten to it. Most of The results bugs was getting was off retaliative combos.
    The back foot and evasive movements wss the right style imo. Bugs wasnt fit nor conditioned enough to pull it off fully is where the fault laid imo
    I do think that he fights better under collins.
    His defence is better allround and hes more composed

    Tbh, no but he would do better. I don't rate him, but he does look better now.

    Looks good on those Collins brothers.They are a couple of uncouth arrogant wanna be's.Chudinov put them in their place.

    Under Tibbs Buglioni would get nailed whilst rigid to the floor so a lesser blow would double its impact. However, this was still very much during the development stage and still his offensive game looked better. The jabbing especially.

    I think the beating he would have took meeting chud head on could not have hurt him more than the fatigue that all the movement he used in the first round did. That was crazy paced running. Out of distance and could not set himself. There was nothing complex that Chud was doing to warrant that. Frank was not yet hurt. There was no need for such high energy evasive tactics.

    Looking back on last night I think they got the tactics wrong, hindsight is a great thing.

    I believe they gave Chudinov's apparent power too much respect, gave away too much canvas, Buglioni was on his toes, using so much energy early on. in my opinion he should have stood in range a little longer and planted his feet and put more on his jab, held up close, leaned on, wrestled, he was the home fighter with a huge support, he could have got away with a few liberties.

    Buglioni wanted to do everything too cleanly, wanted space and time, Chudinov never gave him any he just kept walking straight up to him and Buglioni kept moving backwards.

    Buglioni looked like he was the fighter always reacting, he never took the initiative.

    It was a real display of bravery by Buglioni and I have nothing but respect for him. How much that has taken out of him will remain to be seen.

    Buglioni was completely written off before this and I'm happy for him he proved a few people wrong, people will still write him off but nobody can question his heart or bottle now.

    Regardless of who trains him, that kind of beating won't have done him any good. That was the kind of one sided beat down that can age a fighter over night.

    Buglioni could of had Freedie Roache, Cus D'amato and Eddie Futch in his corner last night and the result would have been the exact same.
