You cannot justify it, once the main feature bout is off you basically have a regular card, you can stick as many fillers in as you want but it will never be PPV and selling it as such is just wrong. Eddie trying to put Tyson in a warm up fight to save the card is laughable. I didn't buy Mayweather Vs Berto, i am not buying this dressed up dross, it makes you wonder where it will end, domestic matches at York Hall on PPV...

Hearn has very little influence on whats going on with Sky. He isn't head of Sky, he is head of Matchroom, is Al Haymon head of Boxnation because a lot of his PBC shows are on there? No. Bottom line is if Sky want something to be PPV it will be, if they don't then it wont.

I'm going to send Barney Francis an e-mail and let him know 10 virgins on Eastside Boxing are unhappy and have decided not to pay for the PPV.

I am fairly sure he'll be devastated and change his decision to appease you.

Hold tight for the response lads.

Boxing is very expensive to produce and has limited appeal to TV advertizers. The only way it can work on TV at the top level in this Country is through some form of pay TV, and the model choose follows the American way (HBO/TVKO; Showtime/SET), it is the best way.

Sure resent it, boycott it, or indeed fantasize about ITV or BBC picking up the top fights. But be aware if the model fails, it will lead to no top quality boxing on any form of TV, and I do not think that will help the sport.

I think you and I may differ in our view of what constitutes "top level" boxing.

That's fine and that is what will ultimately dictate whether the model, that is currently being forced on the public, will succeed or not.

By all means have PPV for the top fights and top names, but you can only fool the people so many times when the product is not good enough.

If people think that the likes of Brook and Joshua fighting nobodies (relatively speaking) constitutes value, they'll continue to buy and all will be good. If they don't where does the sport go from there ?

Of course you have to go after new markets, but as I said before if you do that at the cost of your bread and butter you will soon come unstuck

    I'm with you :good

I didn't buy Bellew Cleverly II, that was the first I didn't buy, this one will be the second as it stands.

They sound a little desperate, they want Fury to fight on the bill, nobody knows yet when his world title fight is happening but even so, why would Fury risk a cut, injury just to bulk up a rather poor looking card.

I'd like to know how much the purses are for the fights on the card.

The BBBoC really need to do something about publicly publishing purses so that situations like this are made trickier to justify by the promoter.

Just don't purchase the fight if you're unhappy that it's PPV.

The sport in this Country is doing brilliant at the moment. The money poured into our cousin (the amateur version) is now benefiting pro boxing.

You suggest there is a lack of quality; I say to you name a time since World War II when British boxing has had more quality? The answer is, it hasn't...

The domestic game has had more 'household names', but times and tastes have changed.

Had to laugh at Tyson's response via an article on here to Hearn as to why he wouldn't show on his card.

Shocking to see it's STILL a PPV though!:roll:

Too many casuals will buy the PPV as evidenced on here hence fair play to Eddie.

It's a business decision, if it makes money why should they

I'll be buying it. It's about 16 quid for an excellent nights entertainment. I just think everyone should calm down.
