mate he was never the best lightweight in the world and that was proved in the upcoming fights. kev mitchell isnt world class and never has been so that win didnt do his reputation as a world champion that much.

how many of your mates in Newcastle have trained Commonwealth ,british and world champions?

i do give ricky credit where it is due, he did very well under your wing and also with fw matching him well after a great performance against rocky martinez. kev is a fighter who it has been proved that he is euro level at best, good win the way he destroyed him but kev was never world class.

A drugged up mitchell with his mind all over the place.. if thats his best win then he;s in trouble. As soon as he faced world class fighters he lost........surely you see that Billy

i said that my mates think he is a talented lad and could go all the way with the correct guidance. i asked if that will be you because you have managed lots of fighters and they always leave you! maybe you would be better served sticking to the coaching and having an experienced manager to guide your fighters through that part?

its good that he has that belief in you to coach him but it is more the managing side of it i worry about.

again it was Lewis who asked me to manage him, he trusts me 100%.
Others have thought the grass is greener on the other side and they have found out it isnt

do you know who was training jon slowey for his defeat last night? i really thought you might have got him disciplined and ready for the next level but i heard he left?

thats good with lewis, you need that kind of trust for things to work properly.

no Jon never left I told him I wasnt training him anymore after all you can't train someone if there not in the gym can you, I gave Jon a lot of time and effort even allowing him to stay at my home, but he just does his own thing
Kris McAdam trained him for his fight last night

think that is why he will never reach even british level. he acted very similar when he was an amateur boxing for scotland. some people dont deserve talent and i think he is one of them!!

how do you rate kris as a coach? he had a very good amateur team about 8-10 years ago but he seems to have went off the boil recently and his pro fighters dont seem to be improving either!

i also didnt mean it to come acreoo like he walked out on you but more that i heard he wasnt at the gym anymore.

To be fair ive never seen Kris coaching or even sparred any of his lads, although Ryan Smith may come and spar Lewis.

ryan smith was a very talented junior but he never really looked as effective as a senior! dont think ryan has the heart to make it as a prob tbh. i remember he left kris mcadam to train with colin belshaw too
