I've never seen anything at all from Buglioni that made me think that he'd be anything other than he is right now. He's in that chasm between being a good fighter and world level.
He won't ever bridge that gap.
I thought yes he was tough and courageous but never once did I think he got a real foothold in the fight.

Standing in range been beaten to the jab. Leaning on, wrestling, jammin and clinchin will zap the energy quicker than evasive footwork imo. Thats why i think they picked the right style. I dont think hed of made it to the last bell any other way which would of been more damaging to his career. Hes come out of this still believing in himself

No - Futch and D'Amato would have pulled him out.

    I disagree.

Leaning into the other guy and being more physical also saps the other man somewhat. Buglioni had size advantage too.

the exertions of running around -at that kind of tempo- was a crazy pace for Frank where as following him and cutting the ring off at a walk didn't bother chud.

Yes ur right it will somewhat tire the other guy as well but i just feel that it would of taken even more out of bugs and he already had nothing left. Also chuds is a strong powerful guy it would of taken less out if him.
For me bugs was never going to win that fight or should i say it was unlikely he would beat chuds from the off. If i was training bugs i would of kept him on the back foot also keeping the clock ticking and yes your wasting energy been evasive but not as much as been in range been beaten to the jab and roughening up close. I do see ur point though pal.

He would have fought going backwards and on the move no matter who was training him, that's what happens when the difference in levels is too big, no matter what their usual style.

John Ryder always fights coming forward, against golovkin he would fight going backwards, can name loads of domestic fighters who fight on the front foot that would be forced to fight on the back foot if the difference in ability was wide enough.

I didn't like his tactics , however anything different and he wouldn't have lasted the 12 so its damned if you do damned if you don't.

This was as good as he could do.
