A profit needs to be made, and if it is felt this best achieved on PPV, then that is what will happen.

As for your hope of failure; if it does, what then? There is no place else for the sport and TV in the UK to go. So this will mean fewer big fights, that are more expensive than ever to attend, with the 'lovely' option if you have not got a ticket of Closed Circuit.

I went to some Closed Circuit showings, but no thanks, not when I can pay my money to watch the fight on my TV, sitting on my couch, drinking my beer.

    Posted this elsewhere.

I've bought Kessler, both Froch-Groves, Bellew-Clev, Brook-Gavin but no way will i buy this. I don't normally mind PPV as i usually go to someone's house and chip in a fiver but no intention here.

If this sells well then we are pretty screwed and there will be pretty much nothing to stop them doing the WWE model of a PPV every month if we accept this - people on here saying they don't like missing out so will buy it suggests they might can get away with this. I really hope it does under 100K.

As it stands it is a good fight card (effing great compared to some of the poo he has served up this year on normal Sky Sports) but it should be what we expect. I would say as it stands it is far worse than the Crolla-Perez I Manc non PPV card in July.

At this late stage, just over 3 weeks to go, you are looking at a similar situation to the Bellew-Cleverly card where names like Groves (not necessairly here) will be added in pointless tune up fights where they don;t even need to be in one - in this case it will be McDonnell, probably AJ (against an absolute plodder, but doing Hearn a favour), Murray, Bellew etc, all in pointless 1/100 type fights where they will hardly lose a round between them, but you can just see Hearn in his IFL interviews - "I'm really pleased with what we have put together Koog - we've got Joshua, we've got Bellew, we've got McDonnell, we've got Murray" and his face lights up and his Twitter fan boys will lap it up saying if you don't want to pay, don;t watch, nobody is forcing you etc. Mind, if you do an 'Eddie Hearn' or 'Eddie Hearn PPV' search on Twitter, the feedback is literally 90% negative.

It's not all Hearn's fault - he has obviously got contracts and obligations with Sky and needs to pay Brook the big bucks to keep him from Al, but that is not out fault and we shouldnt have to suffer - we have lost the main event of our product and really are getting short changed here. He simply can't put on a sufficient PPV card in the time he has left.

100% not buying this. To be honest, i downgraded Sky Sports to the family pack over the summer - thoroughly expecting them to ring back and give me an offer, which hasn't happened, but i have found a site which has allowed me to watch boxing, tennis, football etc on Sky in fantastic quality, pretty much like having SkyGo, so i will just use that for this sham PPV.

Boxing doesn't need PPV to turn a profit. Viewing figures = revenue.

When a huge fight comes together its warranted , but Brook vs Chavez is not a PPV. You must understand whats PPV and what isn't.
This was a warm up fight to a real PPV fight. It would never have been on PPV otherwise.
The promotion costs to sell this will be massive. It will draw in huge numbers on regular Sky. I doubt the number of PPV units shipped will bring in that much more than if was on normal Sky.
If Sky cut Promotion costs will will fly under the radar.
My mate was watching AJ vs Cornish in Heathorw amongst a huge crowd. You don't reach that type of viewership with PPV.
Boxing during the 90's brought in 10 million viewers on ITV.

I hope this non PPV fails so fans of the sports aren't treated like mugs in the future. When a worthy PPV comes along like Froch - Groves 2 or Fury - Klitschko , then i'll gladly ship out the extra cost

Still dont think any of the three of them are ppv worthy. Maybe all three together but not one of any of them or even two at that. For me guys like mayweather v hatton or mayweather de la hoya. Mayweather v pacman. Even hatton tyszu. Two guys at the top of the game or there abouts that had proven it. Nigel benn v mcclellan. Showed they were class operators with at least one really big win behind them or one was at least a massive name. Klitchko has been talked about as the most boring heavyweight champ for years a lot of people dont tune in when hes free to view. And furys only real addition to any other challenger that everybody labelled a bum is that he can talk. Brooks chaves...i dont think brooks should ever be ppv only had one good win. No carisma plus his boxing which is good can be a bit dull at times against half decent fighter.

Whyte v joshuas the worst of all. I ll be amazed if that is actually ppv. Not one of the six are ppv fighters atm. And the match ups arent even that close.

Klitchko should deal with fury easily enough
    Joshua will deal with whyte
Brooks the only fight that isnt about 80/20 in the favour of one of them.

Come on eddie hearn we deserve better than this. People will happily pay when they actually do become ppv fighters if they ever do probably only joshua.

Jeez. If you want to buy it, but it. If you don't, don't.

Yes it's a rubbish card but boxing is a business. If Eddie can get away with it, fair play to him

    Advertizing = revenue

The people who watch boxing do not attract the advertizers that SKY wants, so revenue needs to be made elsewhere...
