I think it was more his speed and accuracy which allowed him to shock Ruiz and keep him honest.

Does Jay Nady also referee the fight?

No, it was Jay Nady who wouldn't let Ruiz get near Jones and use his Jab and Grab style. See the 2nd round as evidence. Nady is yelling "stop holding" before Ruiz even got to Jones to clinch him :rofl

Yes, I like a ref who enforces the rules against illegal hugging/clinching.

But as much as you don't wan't to admit it.. Roy's speed and power kept Ruiz honest, he didn't even want to go to the ropes at times where he was having his only success.

Wilder, Ruiz or any half decent heavyweight would make light work of Calzaghe. Calzaghe was no Roy Jones.

To the original post. Joe is on a different level than Wilder when it comes to skills, but I think he lacks the power and size to keep Wilder off of him.

I actually wouldn't count Ruiz out against Wilder. I am not that impressed with Wilder.

Not for me, Calzage is too small. Calzage would be a live body vs Ruiz however.

Calzaghe would make Wilder look even worse than Wilder makes Wilder look.

He is much shorter than Wilder. However Mario Veit was 6'4" and Joe KO'ed him in one round. And Veit is a way better boxer than Wilder.

That's true. But I love when a great little man takes on a average giant and makes him look like ****.

Hey you never know... Lacy was supposed to knock Joe out according to many and was being hyped as the next Tyson.. We saw what happened there.

I get that Wilder is much larger than Lacy, and that may be too much for Joe, but I would not completely count him out here.

I am not that impressed with Wilder to be honest.
