Lemieux sparring Derevyanchenko & Khytrov - the two faces of Golovkin?

I'd be inclined to agree. I can't envisage Cotto actually taking that fight though. Roach would claim they were up for it but in reality, I don't think they'd be interested. I think they'd prob see Andy Lee as too much risk for little reward too.

 

21 years old lemieux had never sparred more than 7 rounds in a row before the Rubio fight :good david fell in love with his power he believed nobody could take his punches. the situation is way different now. he doesn't seem to gas much anymore for a guy that can throw 700 full 100% power punch through 12 rounds anybody would slow down a bit at the end :bbb

the fact is when you look at golovkin record hes fought some decent boxers but most of them were featherfisted

stevens made him hesitate and barely touch him

 

I'm just excited. May the best man win, but I'm leaning towards DL a bit.

 

Stevens hit him with some haymakers, and Golovkin ate them like skittles. Don't know if he's heavier handed than Lemieux but he's quicker.

Not sure Lemiux will come into this fight in the best of shape. He was very heavy at the 30 day weigh in.

 

That kind of strategy is sometimes all a wounded animal has left going for them.

 

Golovkin slipped and parried the majority, but I see your point. I don't think Lemieux punches MUCH harder than Stevens, maybe they feel a bit heavier coming in. Lemieux needs to stick to that nutritionist they supposedly hired before the Guerrero fight... lots, maybe too much to lose in 30 days for a compact frame like his.

 

I can't wait for the fight. Even though things may look a certain way on paper there are intangibles and because of them we sometimes get great fights. Like both fighters but I am tending to pull for Lemieux.

Sergei is shorter and doesn't have the same sort of power but aside from that his calm educated stalking pressure and offensive variety is as good as there is out there. I hope to see Khytrov/Lemieux for real in the future.

 

I have no doubt that Lemieux will be in the best condition in his life,but this is a huge ask of him.Full credit to the Canadian taking this fight where knowone else will.I think Davids in for a very long(short?) night there.I have my tickets and will enjoy the show.:good
Even in a losing effort I believe David's style is so fan friendly that HBO will be happy to continue their support.
