He signed a 5 fight deal with RTL after the Jennings fight so barring a career ending injury he will fight until at least then. So he will likely be fighting until 2017 at least, maybe even 2018.
I think he probably retires after knocking out Fury, and Wilder. Probably 2-3 fights. If he's able to fight Fury in Nov or Dec we COULD see him twice in 2016. Unification bout, plus a defense against Glazkov or something.
Wlad is 6-months shy of 40-years of age and has almost 70 professional fights. How many other heavyweights were on top at his age? Dedicated to their training like Wlad, at his age? Very, very few. Wlad doesn't balloon up between bouts or lead a crazy lifestyle, so he has that going for him. He should be able to go undefeated and retire of the next 24-36 months. However, time does catch us all. No one really knows how much he has left, I suspect, not even Wlad himself...that's just the way it is.
I don't think he's washed up. He's taken VERY good care of himself outside of the ring and hasn't received any sustained beatings inside of it. He just had one awkward fight (against Jennings) where he won a UD, but people forget how he destroyed Pulev right before that fight. I quite strongly believe he'll make it through his next five fights without a loss. Hopkins was still competitive at the very top level in this sport at 45+ years old. Guys like Wladimir and Hopkins have serious longevity by default because they take pride in a healthy, consistent lifestyle.
