Larry was not even a factor when frazier was boxing,he filled out and became the dominant Ali of his era. Larry can make all the excuses he wants,he was nocked into oblivion by Tyson yet while being smaller took shavers best punches,it took Tyson no more than 4 rounds to dispatch him and the only one ever to do so.

What does any of the above have to do with Frazier hitting harder than Tyson ? Nonsense! :silly

I don't care whether you or any other Tyson nut hugging freak thinks Holmes was better at 43 than he was at 38. I am telling you he was a fukking lot better at 30.

If that is too difficult for you to understand, take up knitting, because boxing is obviously confusing for you.

If hes better at 38 than 43 that would mean Tyson fought a prepared Holmes then wouldn't it? Was Spinks better than Holyfield ?Or do you want for me to explain why that matters as well, you could simply avoid this question too and run like you usually do. :yep

I agree with you that Holmes was a lot better at 30 than 38 or 43.

Did he really try to claim that or were you just assuming it upon him ?

Can you quote him or did you just assume it?

Ali by decision. I don't think it would be an easy fight. Ali had the chin to take Mike's power shots. He'd utilize movement, and he'd tie Mike up on the inside to break his rhythm.

One thing to consider is the fact that Tyson brings so many things into play which Ali has never faced before.

Crisp, accurate to the point punches. It's not like Tyson will hit Ali once and that's it because Tyson was the kind of finisher Ali never faced before. Once he had a man in trouble, he would finish him with a volley of punches, the Holmes encounter is a classic example.

That being said, personally speaking i thinking for Tyson to have any reasonable chance of victory must come in the first 5 rounds.

This question should be banned. Either you're VERY NEW here or you're, Ten.

This has GOT to be THE MOST Posted question on this board. I must have seen at least TEN Hundred times.

    Here goes again.

First: If you're talking BOTH in their PRIME, ALI would NOT use ANY rope strategy against Tyson. ALI's a smart man and he would KNOW it would be suicide.

For the first 5 rounds, TYSON is ......ready?..........Frazier with Forman's POWER and Patterson's SPEED.

    How does ALI beat him?

    Simple: Get past round 5.

I have studied this fight in SO MANY Ways. ALI would rely on a few of his gifts that Tyson does not posses. The fight would be determined by which fighter could exploit the other fighter's weaknesses.

    So let's look at them.

    **************************************...
TYSON'S WEAKNESSES: Even during his Prime, Tyson has never had very good stamina. Don't believe me? Look at his record and tell me how many KOs he has after round 6. Forget it. I'll tell you. TWO.

TYSON has also always had poor balance. His other, and perhaps his Greatest, weakness is his fragile mind. IT's not very difficult to **** Mike off and throw him off his game.

    **************************************...

Before I get to ALI's weaknesses, let me state that STYLES MAKE FIGHTS.

Fighter A can beat Fighter B, C and D, all of whom would beat Fighter E, who in turn, could beat Fighter A.

ALI knocked out FORMAN. But he struggled with guys whom FORMAN DESTROYED.

    **************************************...
ALI'S WEAKNESSES: He was an arm puncher who didn't always use his power to it's fullest potential. He rarely punched to the body, though in his younger years he did throw some body punches.
    **************************************...

TYSON'S Strategy: Tyson's best chance would be to finish ALI in the early rounds. This is not likely. IF you look at ALI's record, you will see that he has faced nearly a dozen punchers with TYSON-Level power. NONE of them succeeded in stopping him.

Tyson is a Living Dynamo in the first 5 rounds. He slows down considerably in the middle rounds and becomes nearly inactive after about round 10. Look at the records. I've met him and studied him, and the other champions CLOSELY.

ALI'S Strategy: ALI likes to put the early rounds in the bank. He would HAVE to do this against Tyson. His best chance would be to take Tyson into deep water (the late rounds).

Believe it or not, it's not as hard as you think.

Also: Like I said earlier, it's NOT hard to Anger Tyson and take him out of his game. ALI was a MASTER at Psychological Warfare. He would Certainly get in Mike's head. Holmes, Douglas and Holyfield did it easily. It would be a piece of cake for ALI.

Tyson has fast hands. But what good would that do in the early rounds if his feet can't get him close enough to his elusive opponent? He WON'T Catch ALI in rounds 1-5.

You should know the rest from here. If not, look at my other posts on this fight. Each one is a little different but the result is always the same, within a round or two.
