Yeah, broken hand wouldn't make much difference to a fighter in a big fight, not like, say, a hotel full of Japanese prostitutes.

 

You can fight with an injury you cant fight if you don't prepare,again you would have had to box or even train actually to be even considered a reliable source,that eliminates you as well.

Every fighter has an excuse after a loss though. I'm not saying it's not legit, but it makes me laugh that in his mind he was going to KO Tyson but for the hand injury.
Hell, Pinklon Thomas also said that before Tyson iced him, he was going to knock Tyson out. In the next round, of course. Botha said the same thing.
I swear, fighters are the most delusional of athletes.

 

Actually Tyson wasn't even 40 at the time of the fight. Evader was actually older also.

Don't get me wrong I'm very skeptical of his excuse, I'm using the same mentality of the Tyson fantastics. Any excuse given for his losses or bad performances are to be taken as gospel but if any fighter that Tyson beat has an excuse it's utter baloney.

Tucker doesn't beat Tyson period.

I think Tony Tucker had a legitimate story to tell about his injury.
But rather than focusing on telling us how "I would have KO'd Tyson otherwise", he should be saying how his managers let him down there.
Whether it made a difference to the result is irrelevant, and unknowable. The point is : he wasn't given the proper chance or handled properly by his management.
This is the problem with boxing, fighters get shafted by their own greedy management.
Tucker's own managerial problems were notoriously bad, lots of conflicting contracts and disputes. And I guess they were all out to grab that money and cash him in.
HBO and Don King wanted their "Unification Final" wrapped up quick too, not more postponements, and Tyson was the man who was bringing in the viewers.

None of this takes away from Tyson's solid performance against Tucker.

 

Do you happen to know the reason why Tucker left Kronk? Or did Steward leave Tucker?
