    The young, Titanium chinned, 120 punch per round Ibeabuchi (19-0) who faced Chris Byrd versus today's Alexander Povetkin.

    Both fighters are 6' 2" with Ike having a 1" reach advantage.

    Who takes it?

    Ibeabuchi beat a prime Tua, a montrous brawler, and a prime Byrd, a top technician. I'd not bet against him. Not exactly the same kind of boxer but I'd like to see how Sasha'd fare against Ortiz, more so than the big stiff Wach that's for sure.

    Apparently Ike beats everyone in these hypothetical match ups and easily.


    Except for the following who would be competitive

    Holyfield
    Tyson
    Bowe
    Ruddock
    Tucker
    Holmes
    Lennox
    Mercer
    Briggs


    All from a guy who got a gift against Tua was getting outboxed by Byrd until he landed a lucky punch and damn near lost to Marion Wilson. He was also the biggest juicer in the game. It contributed to his anti social behaviour. Naturally aggressive and crazy are a bad mix with PED's.

    In your list I have only Lewis, Tyson, Bowe and Holyfield being competitive.

    Ike received no gift against Tua. It was a hard toe to toe fight between two of the sport's top contenders both in their primes. Ike just edged the decision.
    Probably the last great HW fight in the last 12 years.
    The fact that both of these top contenders were eliminated in legal entanglements is probably the main reason the Klitschos could become world champions. They were lucky to had ducked both Tua and Ibeabuchi.

    That was no lucky punch against Byrd. Ike was throwing with bad intentions from the start and it was only a matter of time before one connected.

    Yeah the Klitschko's are so lucky they did not have to face so many people. They are counting their lucky stars LeBron James, Ray Lewis and Barak Obama did not become boxers.

    No, not so many people but just the two top contenders of their era, Tua and Ibebuchi.
    The fact they avoided them is both a blessing and a curse.
    Had they met and defeated them then they wouldn't get so much flac for not having faced A level opponents as they do today. But they avoided them so they have no Ali-Frazier, Hagler-Hearns, Leonard-Hearns type of era defining fights to make their claim to ATG'ness.

    Rather than addressing the topic based on the physical and mental attributes of the fighters you instead went on some lame off topic rant that proved absolutely nothing.
    Can Povetkin outbox Ibeabuchi? He's no Chris Byrd, so I think not.
    Can he out punch Ibeabuchi in volume or power? Neither.
    Which could stand up to the power of the other?
    We know Ibeabuchi had a titanium chin, but how about Povetkin?

    I knew Ike Ibeabuchi from the day he walked in to Curtis Cokes Home of Champions gym in Dallas fresh from Nigeria & declared " I'm going to be Heavyweight Champion of the World & no one will beat me" He was right no one did beat him in the ring. It took a lying Vegas hooker to bring him down
    Did you really see those fights?? Ike boxed Tua's head off in one of the best fights I have ever seen live. As for Chris Byrd Ike nearly took his head off that was an awesome punch
    In all the years I knew Ike I can honestly say I never saw him use any drugs & I saw him almost daily when he was with Curtis.
    To call him a juicer is an insult & libelous I'd be careful what words you use if I were you.
    You obviously never met Ike did you?? Ike was no angel but neither was he the monster the media tried to make him out to be.. I think you Me or anyone else would have mental problems after being kept heavily sedated for 14 months almost like a zombie because they were scared of what he "MIGHT DO"
    I firmly believe that if Ike had not called that hooker that night he would have been the natural successor to Lennox Lewis as undisputed HW champion. You'd have never heard of the Klitschko brothers
    I'd have loved to see a Lennox-Ike fight but knowing & liking both fighters it would have been a hard fight to watch for me but it sure would have been a barn burner :bbb:bbb:hi:

    Povetkin has no defense, and his big head will be an easy target for Ibeabuchi's fist. Povetkin is so overrated.

    So far, the pool majority agrees that Ibeabuchi will lay out the Doughboy by KO.

    Ike didn't play when it came to swift and brutal KOs, and defenceless Povetkin would be no exception. Ike's jab was powerful and that alone may have been enough to floor the Russian.
