p4p lists created by humans are highly subjective and basically worthless.

Computer generated lists at least have a clear criteria. In boxrec p4p rankings, Golovkin is #2 behind Wlad. One could argue that boxrec system is not favorable for lighter weights, but starting from JWW it is pretty good.

Anyway, even computerized rankings are resume based and value wins which happened 10 years ago the same way as ones achieved 10 days ago which is ridiculous. For example, Pacquiao was an extraordinary fighter, possibly #1 5-7 years ago, but after the KO from Marquez, he is far from what he was and putting him above Golovkin, Gonzalez and other fresh fighters is wrong.

Everybody except a few blind haters accept that GGG is by far the best middleweight, so how in the world can Cotto be above him in p4p list ???

Sorry but the Triple Duck has not yet proven that he is he best middleweight in the world. Cotto has the better resume at the weight.

If Little G belongs in the top 10 P4P, then so does Kovalev, and he should rank higher.

I uderstand that you want to make a point, but you can't be serious.

We're talking Froch and then GG. Vicariously??? Froch has ulterior motives, he can never be speaking from the heart. But Froch talking too much I guess can strike a nerve sometimes...except if you love Froch the fighter. Vicariously, lmmfao!:rofl

I can see Froch's point. His entire career was a chorus of critics crying "How'd he beat that faster slicker guy when he's slow and his technique is ****?" He was only grudgingly added to the top 10 p4p for a year or so after beating Pascal, Taylor, Dirrell, Abraham, Bute, and Kessler. That is way more than GGG has done and now GGG isn't just in the top ten he's at the top of the top ten where Froch was never listed.

3g is surely knocking on or creeping into top ten now. he is a silver Olympian, world unified champ (or single if you only count the real titles) and is nearly half way towards double figures of proper world title defences. But definitely not top five, there are several others who have both defended more times than his 4 or 5 defences, and defended top unified titles into the bargain, and before he has managed it.

I don't count non top title defences like interim and silver crud like that, they are a joke as far as I am concerned. IA world title is first place, not 2nd, that's the losers place. An organisation's world title is meaningless if they offer 2 of them - theres only ONE WORLD!

I just think it's the way he's seen off his opponents that get's him close.
I know Murray, Macklin and Geale etc are not exactly elite but they're not bums either and I think the way he's demolished them without too much trouble get's him a shout to be up there.

Amateur ain't got nothing to do with World Pro P4P ratings. P4P is based on talent, level of opposition, and quality of wins. :yep
Little G just ain't got it. Maybe when he finally starts fighting top level opponents he may get there, but not today.
