His left hook KO of John Tate is epic.

 

Ridd!ck Bowe had a very nice short left hook.

 

Common now. Wlad's flaws are numberous and obvious, but punching power is not one of them. He rarely lets his hands go for reasons well-known, but when he does, his hook is scary. Say what you want, but if there's a single thing the whales he's fighting can do - it's take a punch. And him laying out a huge guy like Austin with such speed IS impressive.

 

So knocking out Ray Austin - a stiff , slow , lumbering bum with a left hook makes Wlads the GOAT:huh

Stiverne put Austin to sleep with one right hook and didn't need to follow up like Wlad did. Does he have the GOAL right hook?

Helenius sparked Peters out cold easily with text book perfect left hook within 7 rounds.

Wlad couldn't do it in 12 rounds. That Helenius left hook was as good as any Wlad ever threw. How can that be?

 

Cleveland Williams could dig with his left.
Yes, Ken Norton deserves a shout.

Lennox Lewis showed a great left hook on occasion, but too rarely.

 

Brewster , unlike Wlad could dig a left hook into the body. Hence why he got tired.

Wlad cought the worst left hook of the fight first in round 3. As I said - Brewster beat him to to the punch (LH) and beat him to a stoppage with the LH.

How about putting Chambers into a cold slumber?

How about knocking down a Povetkin who had never been down in 135 amateur and 26 pro bouts?

KDing a Pulev who had never been down?

 

It took a guy who stood in one spot with his arms out in the air for Wlad to score an impressive one shot LH KO.
Pulev opened himself up like a platter for that left hook. It was more of a case of what he did wrong than what Wlad did right.

Old comeback Foreman scored more impressive LH KO's than that and his opponents were actually moving.


Chambers was staggering around like a zombie from 12 round of having Wlad drapped all over his cruiser weight back. He was 10 seconds away from the final bell. Where was the LH for the previous 35 mins when Chambers was active.

Wlad has a solid LH but it isn't is the GOAT top 10 . Thats what were talking about here.

 

Bob Fitzsimmons scored one punch ko's of Corbett and Sharkey yet he doesn't get mentioned? Meanwhile Jeffries is prominent:think Yeah right.

Your top six are all modern boys, tho an impressive lot.
IMO take your top six, send 'em back 50 years, and bring forward a handful of old guys and you might have a different list.

Just a few from the past:
'Two Ton' Tony G.? Might have been the only thing he had!
Patterson? IMO the fastest heavy AT but never let go with those combos like he should have. That being said, his hook had EVERY opponent wary. If he didn't have that 'mind-numbing' asset fighters would have walked thru him. He lands that solid?...everyone's gonna be hurt.
Cooper? Gotta give him credit. If he didn't have that banger, no one would even know who he was.
Lastly, no mention of Shavers?
Tho he always wanted to load up with his HOF big right, that left hook was just about as potent. Had he nailed Lyle earlier in the round in their s c r a p Ron would have been face down, he was on '*****-street' after that shot.
