He was the fighter of the decade and is usually rated no worse than the second best lightweight if all time. But l guess that's completely irrelevant.

First of all it's looking like Floyd's a PED cheat (although for the sake of both him and boxing l hope it's not true) and secondly if Duran's comp is **** then why is he rated so highly at lightweight?

That's a pretty basic question given your position on his comp.

Not sure where to begin. I think Floyd's a great fighter. Probably top 20. Duran's top 5-6 and that ends up being the bottom line.

You should begin by admitting that you don't know much about Mayweather and that you were being dishonest about the quality of Duran's resume at lightweight. Only way that I can make sense of your comments.

You are feeding the troll. Mayweather's Lightweight career consists of a questionable win over Castillo, so a rematch with him. Sosa, and Phillip N'dou.

Never mind beating Buchanan De Jesus and the others. LOSING to De Jesus is better than Mayweather's pile of shyte.

    Lets move on to 140.

    Maywether. Corley, Bruseles and Gatti.

Duran. I'd say Matta, Villa, and Mamby were on an equal par.

    Welter.

Durans wins over Palomino, and Leonard alone surpasses anything Mayweather did at 147.

    Light Middle.

I'll put Cuevas and Davey Moore over, Mayweathers SD against a semi interested Oscar, or his catchweight with Canelo.

    Middleweight.

Though the naturally bigger guy Mayweather never grew the cajones to try and compete there.

Pipino Cuevas could really crack and I think that if Moore hadn't had Duran around he could have been champ for a while. I rate him as pretty solid.

that is what I said, however they may be much better than Floyds top opponents. SRL, Duran, Hearns, Hagler would be big favorites IMO to win either wide survival decisions or by KO over Floyd...Floyd simply did not fight anyone at their level

couldn't do worse than losing a competitive decision? of course he could.

that whole post is kinda wacked tbh, leonard might have used the run and flurry tactic against hagler, a mw, and duran who he had lost to previously whilst fighting his usual aggressive fight, but he was a hard punching aggressive fighter for the vast majority of his career and there is no real reason to think he would use plan b against a smaller guy without great power.

why did he mix it up with every other fighter he could have controlled from the outside?

virtually no one likes getting hit, but i'm not sure why you think ray stands out there, he showed a good chin and big ballz in many fights.

I know it's a general idea ray fought the wrong fight in montreal, but that is only true in hindsight, he fought the same way he fought in all his previous fights and was the bigger and supposedly more powerful guy in montreal, running from a lw who was yet to prove himself at ww would have been a strange plan to go in with.

you'll have to bump that thread for me, i went back a couple pages but couldn't see it.

i'd say ray had brains and ballz tbh, they aren't exclusive traits.

i agree with that bit, plus he got hurt a bit early on and that can limit footwork. I don't think he fought the worst fight possible, more that a good plan for him also turned into a good stylistic matchup for duran.

yeah, he usually fought with more movement, but he rarely ran and flurried, i just don't see him fighting like that vs floyd. but i could be wrong, that's the beauty of sport.
