Carribbeans in boxing, why do they flame out so quickly?

    Jean Pascal and Stevenson are both originally Haitian and their careers have been solid and relatively long careers.

    Some nations just are not good at boxing/fighting. I don't know why people look for petty excuses. Some nations are good at boxing, others are not like most of the Carribean countries, it's really as simple as that.

    There have been dozens of great Carribbean boxers. They just don't hold it past 30 or so, with a few exceptions.

    name that 'dozen' then.. Not like a dozen would even be a good answer because it's not enough, but no way has there been a dozen unless you are using the word 'great' wrongly cause someone like Glen Johnson is no great lol. There's been a few, but vast majority= terrible. You see a Jamaican, Dominican, etc in the ring you're not gonna expect him to be good.

    Lewis was the greatest HW boxer since Larry Holmes.. lol, but on a serious note, Mike McCallum is def a great, so is Kid Chocolate and Jose Napoles.

    My guess would be talent pool and resources. Many of the countries are small, poor countries where boxing isn't particularly popular.
