Ward is a good fighter, no shame losing to him and no excuses need to be given. Same goes the other way round.

 

The thing is, I understood why people were so confident about Ward beating GGG, I mean GGG is a smaller guy who stylistically shouldn't pose too much for Ward.

However, Kovalev is bigger than Ward, punches just as hard if not harder than GGG (p4p not even in terms of h2h) and his style itself is not like GGGs either who mostly fights at mid range whereas Kovalev can fight from the outside, this fight is very dangerous for Ward, full credit if he takes it.

 

Actually, HBO think Kovalev beats him - just like they thought Stevenson would lose to Kovalev.

Both Stevenson and Ward, to get a 'gimme' fight on WCB, had/has to sign an extension with a guarantee to fight Kovalev. Stevenson went to Showtime, wanted to go the one-fight-at-a-time route.

What will Ward do? He can't go to PBC, he's a ROC guy. All roads lead to Sergey Kovalev.

 

Probably just give him credit and admit to being wrong. Obfuscation and excuse making is your department.
