Personally I would take more schooled Wlad of after Vitali retired over Vitali. Stronger chin,better defense Vitali vs stronger faster puncher and better techinique Wlad ?vvitali has better ring generalship but wlad has the better jab which can neutralize just about anything he would do.... 50/50

its possible the fight would of sucked as well simply because one or both of the brothers would have too hard of a time going into "kill-mode" trying to defeat the other,,,,,just a thought.

You talk out of your ass..you think not rematching guys when they are irrelevant gives you ammo in the thread...sorry but Byrd was thrashed twice by Wlad and was lucky with Vitali,maybe you are the one who should check the timelines of where the rematches would have taken place and what would be the gain and who didn't stick around for one? let me guess that would make Purity top dog in your world I assume ? I would also add after Wlad defeated him"Vitali was injured" Byrd sighned with king who never let his fighters fight klitchkos ,Byrd had waited 5 years after his Wlad loss to fight him again,vitali left from 2004 to 2008,byrd retired in 2009....Vitali was never going to get a rematch any time soon under king anything else dopey? :smooch

 

Because Byrd and Purity not want any of them, thats why. The two brother, esp. Wladimir show they fear absolutely no one.

The hammer-fisted Klitschko, 31-1 (30), lost his WBO crown to slippery southpaw Chris Byrd in the most unfortunate of circumstances in April 2000 when he injured his rotator cuff whilst leading clearly on all three scorecards. Vitali retired in agony after the ninth round, but has thirsted for revenge ever since.

Since the day when I lost my WBO title I badly wanted to fight Byrd again, said Klitschko. I would love to come to the US and fight Byrd over there. He never beat me. He never beat a Klitschko. My rotator cuff beat me, not Byrd. Even though I was fighting almost one armed from round two on I was ahead on points.

After I lost the title to Byrd, my brother Wladimir stepped in and won back the WBO belt for the Klitschko family, but this is not enough for me. I want my own revenge against Byrd.

I'm longing for the moment when I can shut up Byrd's big mouth by myself, he added. I want the rematch in the United States. So Byrd will have no excuses left anymore after I beat him.

Klitschko, also ranked WBA No.3 and WBO No.2, stopped the durable Vaughn Bean in 11 rounds in February and now appears to have put that painful injury behind him.

 

The FACT is neither even attempted to make those rematches. Had they wanted them they would have found a way. Wlad not chasing Sanders is almost forgivable since Sanders was never more than a fringe contender to begin with. On the flip side, he was destroyed by a fringe contender who lost every other time he stepped up. That simply looks bad. Vits on the other hand, there are no excuses. Both he and Byrd where highly rated the next several years. If he wanted it he could have found a way. Funny Wlad could fight him twice but Vits couldnt get a rematch? He mever eben tried. So please boy, go sell your snake oil someplace else, Im not buying it.

 

Talking about it and trying to make it happen are two different things. And I dont buy the injured in the sevond round excuse either. Someone, anyone please point out where Vits stopped throwing with his injured arm in that fight. He thought he was losing and quit, end of. Byrds style simply wasnt suitable for him just as Sanders style wasnt suitsble for Wlad.

 

Byrd said recently that he always wanted a rematch but could only get in the ring with Wlad.

 

Whats the point of this thread? Most Europeans rate the Klitschkos as the best of any era and most yanks think they are bums. I believe both the Klitschkos would wipe the floor with any heavyweight from present or past, except for prime Mike Tyson and you guys believe they are bums. It don't matter, its just a racial issue, and that's okay, I can live with it, why can't you?

 

If its race than its obviously your issue. I rate both very highly h2h and Wlad around tenth all time. It has nothing to do with race or nationality and everything to do with the era they fought in and those they fought. The point of the thread is that there is no justification for assuming because Sanders lost to Vits the Wlad shouldnt have rematched him. That because Byrd lost to Wlad that Vits shouldnt have rematched him. That die hard Klit fans think that is ok shows flawed judgement and a preferential treatment toward their favorite fighters. Seems that has more to do with race and nationality than questioning the motives as to why they didnt.
