Dawson was WAY more seasoned and better than Lemiuex is at this point.

You said "worst PPV headliner". Dawson is worse for my money than Lemieux. The majority would agree, the difference on the scale of excitement is significant.

In my opinion. . . Golovkin/Lemieux is more PPV worthy than say Mayweather/Berto or Pacquiao/Algieri. I'd much rather spend my money on the former than the latter.

He was nowhere near worse at the time he fought Hopkins. He had one loss vs Pascal.

    You still don't get it.

Entertainment value in a high level fight = indication of how big a headliner you will be.

Extremely entertaining 3-belt middleweight unification >>>> predictably boring LHW title fight between BHop and Dawson.

Lemieux as a headliner >>>> Dawson.

Not even close. Lemiuex will never be a better headliner than even someone like Dawson. He will lose this fight cause he is average at best and then be a gatekeeper which is the career he is suited for.

Anybody ever hear of Peter McNeeley? Alex Steward? Henry Tillman? Chris Algerie? Berto? 67 yr old Mosley? 74 yr old Mayorga? Christ, I could do this all day. Lemuiex probably isn't in the top 50 worst PPV headliners

Nope, fight is exactly where it needs to be.

If HBO was putting forth the money they were 10-15 years ago for their regular fights, I could see the argument that this isn't PPV-worthy. But let's not pretend we're in the same environment. They're going to keep putting fights like this on PPV to subsidize their boxing budget.

Sure, I'll watch - but there's no way in hell I'm going to ante up the $50 or so to pay for this fight. Not gonna happen.

For all you complaining about it being on PPV...

The fight HAD to be on PPV due to how much money was needed to coax Lemieux in the ring.

If it wasn't PPV, you would've seen no unification bout with Lemieux. So, would you rather pay 60$ and have the fight or pay nothing and see nothing.
