Broner v Theophane

I can see why people might think it's a marketing ploy but I think it could be personal.

 

Of course its marketing ploy. Both under may weather promotion banner

 

Pointless fight.

1) Broner is a hype-job who knows he can't beat the top guys, hence him fighting Ashley.
2) Theophane is massivley undeserving of a title shot.

Hope it's a Double KO!

 

Very poor fight, will probably happen but Broner is way above that level, he is a good fighter who is never going to beat a top guy but will always look good against contenders. Theopane is really just a very average fighter who never was or never will be at that level.

 

Utterly pointless.

Theophane said they were alright with each other aswell but that will probably change now, Mayweather just trying to hype up an easy and cheap fight to make.

 

Wish Ashley all the best he was a top pro when he came up here

 

Always support British boxers, but lets be honest he should be nowhere near a world title shot.

 

Glad ashley is finally getting his chance.

He beat garcia in the amateurs, works his ass off to get himself in the position he is today, and fck anyone who says he doesn't deserve a shot.

Nothing has been put on a plate for theophane, he had no hype like hypejobs like groves and joshua who've had everything put on a plate for them.

Only floyd has looked out for him after he went out to the states off his own back and showed himself in the may-weather gym of his capabilities.

Why does Theopane get hate? I know he doesn't deserve a shot but even way before this was even mentioned people hated on him. In person he is down to earth and always comes across well in interviews.

 

Yep and yep. I've seen Mayweather fan boys try and claim Theophane as world class before which is beyond ridiculous. He does look the part though does Ashley.

Good luck to him on the payday front I guess. It's just not a fight I'm interested in.

 

Broner should win this fight without too much problem.

In his post fight interview on Saturday, Broner basically came out and said that he wouldn't be taking any risky fights any time soon. I guess this is the kind of garbage fights we can look forward to seeing him in.

 

Decent fighters get hate in the sport of boxing. If he was a thug who trashed talk he'd get wannabe gangster fanboys. If he was religious, he'd get those type of fans too.

If he was a council estate yob like hatton, he'd get his fanboys.

Sadly Theophane is just a normal everyday respectful guy, so it's harder for him to be marketed towards any particular demographic, because now a large percentage of the population is made of scum who adore scum.

 

I think you'll find only God can judge him. It says so on his back.
