I'll pick Floyd Sr. by decision. Both were more or less journeyman but Mayweather was one of a slightly higher caliber. Eklund was tough and never got stopped though, so I expect it to go to the cards.
Interesting. I find both these boxer's stories and personal lives fascinating. ****y of course was portrayed in The Fighter, I think a Floyd Snr biopic would be cinematic gold. Both fans of the crack pipe:rasta
I actually never saw that movie but have been meaning too. Apparently, Eklund is the half brother or cousin of Mickey Ward? Anyway, I saw a real life documentary on Eklund a number of years ago, and it covered his drug habit.. Sad story.
Ya Eklund is Micky Ward's half brother. Christian Bale plays a great role portraying him in the film. The documentary Getting High on Cracked Street(a harrowing watch) is also in the film. Eklund seems like a funny, loveable character who sadly had a crippling addiction and went onto live his life vicariously through his brother Micky. Having watched recent interviews he seems to be doing well now which is great.
It's a miracle that he's still alive after the life he's apparently lived. A tough boxing career followed by a crack addiction generally doesn't make for sticking around long enough to seeing too many grey hairs.
both were decent. I think Mayweather was a bit better. I think he would win a UD. They both drug problems. Maybe they could split an 8 ball after the fight.
