Does Fury have a realistic chance to pull off an upset?

Pulev is as fluid as a chunk of rock. He holds his hands up as if in surrender, paws a bit, launches the occasional rangefinder, has no inside game, pillow-fists and very little meaningful defense. He also has no venom, no spite, and a spirit as vaporous and intangible as his haircut. He lost because he never had the cojones to win.

Fury is a different ballgame. Fury prevails when dragged into the trenches and goes on the bestial offensive when hurt, something Wlad has not dealt with before. Fury prevails when he uses his boxing brain and listens to Peter Fury's instruction, staying at range, keeping the fight at the mercy of his massive reach. Fury is perfectly capable of never taking a hurtful punch from Klitschko.

This will be seem come Nov 28th. And yes, some will cry, tears of sorrow, tears of joy.

 

Wow, huge underestimating of a legit top 8 hw. Pulev has his legit problems, lack of power, lack of workrate. But he has very good size, very good reflexes, a killer instinct, good with discipline good technically, good recovery, and if it appears pawing (so does Wlad's at times) a very good jab that is nevertheless very effective. Fury's got even better size, slightly better power, band considerably better workrate. He appears to have a weaker chin and less discipline than Pulev though. Nevertheless, IMO he's a solidly better opponent than Pulev. I think it will be a similar result as pulev though, while I won't put an upset completely out of the realm of possibility.

 

Wlad will demolish him. It will be easy.

 

Only if someone jacked up all his stats after creating him on Fight Night Champion.

Delupino...you on the ball good ****ysis....but i got there before you...i can confidently say that wlad will get manhandled and stopped...these posters havent got a clue whatsoevwr about boxing they just casual fans....its makes me smile......big upsets? Not really wlad could easily pull a muscle actually in fight trying to dodge from the hyperactive fury lol

 

Sure he does...Haye apparently had a brilliant chance too yet did nothing.

 

He does have a chance, he's a clear underdog of course but anything can happen in boxing. Tyson lost to Douglas, Ali lost to Spinks, Holyfield lost to Ruiz, upsets happen especially when a fighter is no longer in their prime.

But I expect it will be Wlad scoring the dramatic KO, he has the superior power and better delivery of that power. Fury may have some success but once he feels the power of Wlad I expect Fury to crumble pretty quickly.

 

Fair assesment, except I'm not so sure that Pulev has a better chin than Fury, their only common opponent was Joey Abell and Abell put Pulev on the floor for a count [no shame he is a big puncher] but an incredibly out of shape Fury [post David Haye mess arounds] was clowning around taking Abell's big shots flush on the chin. He also demonstrated, as you mention, the superior power and handspeed to Pulev was very much in evidence as Fury put Abell on the floor pretty much every time he landed, 5 times in total.

IMO Fury is the toughest challenge Wlad has faced in years. Because of the attributes you note.

I watched yesterday the Wlad vs Jennings fight in its entirety for the first time, and Wladimir really didn't look good and was actually looking quite old and out of ideas, breath and accuracy in the second half of the fight. The same Jennings that went life and death with Mike Perez.

I honesty think Wladimir is an old man there for the taking and Pulev came in with a bizarre game plan for a fighter as gifted as him. The way he disposed and stopped Ustinov was really impressive.

 

Anyone has a chance, but the real question is how much of a realistic chance do they have? Not much I can tell you that.
