Liam Smith reminds me of Froch, great chin and very physically strong and a slow starter... but he's got some bloody rock solid punches. They'll sap the hell out of fighters. Will be in some good fights but he will also have a short career, his face first defence will only carry him so far.

    Round 6

Smith is bullying in behind a jab and overhand right, crouched and compact. Thompson is getting backed into the ropes, his jab doing little to hold Smith off anymore. Thompson switches to southpaw, to no effect. Thompson down, slip with a curling punch around the shoulder blade. Thompson is stepping to his left and takes a looping right beneath the ear. Smith is loading up on the right hand and missing past Thompson's head at short range. Smith is putting shots together, hooks and rights, Thompson hurt on the ropes. Shoeshine on the face by Smith and Thompson is hurt. Smith dribbles leather off Thompson's face and he barely survives until the bell.

    10-9 Smith

    58-56 Thompson

possibly true, but I can't think of many world class fighters who actually fight at 154, (catchweights don't count!)

    Another UK champ:happy

Andrade will be back to reclaim his belt very soon, but in the meantime, enjoy being the WBO champ.

Yea, but against fighters who have a good defence and throw solid punches aswell he will come unstuck very quickly if their world class imo. All good beating opponents, but John Thompson isn't a world class fighter (nothing wrong with that), but I'm not sold on liam smith at all and think any decent light-middle will beat him easily enough, well done regardless though.

    Round 7

Thompson is holding. Smith bucks him off and tosses him on the floor. Ref scolds both to maintain order. Body shots from Smith. Thompson is backed into a corner with Smith jabbing hard and hooking the body. Uppercut on the chest and right hand up top by Smith. Thompson hurt. Body shot and big left hook on the face by Smith, up on his toes. Thompson is knocked into the ropes and holds as Smith collides with him. Smith is grinning as he walks forward, blocking jabs and winging hooks into the head. Thompson is unsteady on his legs as he is pushed into the ropes, sitting on them. Thompson can't regain his footing. Big right hand by Smith, left hook, and Thompson slumps, going prone on his belly and wriggling like an upended turtle.

    KO7!!

I love this bird who is presenting.

She has correctly pointed out that Thompson has no chin. NONE.
