Is Vasyl Lomachenko seriously overrated?

Hell no he isn't overrated. Dude is a boxing genius, and an incredible talent. Check out Wilson Kayden's film studies on YouTube of Loma, and you'll see why he's thought of so highly.

Rigo ducked? Are you serious? All he wanted was a rehydration clause, which is understandable seeing how Loma walks around over 10 pound heavier than he does.

    Lomachenko is a beast.

Imagine if he spent 20 fights beating up cans and then took on Salido and Russell.

He'd destroy them easily and everybody would go on about how great he is.

Instead, he takes them on right out of the gate, looks pretty impressive considering his experience, but since he struggled somewhat against much more experienced opponents, we get this nonsense.

The guy is adjusting to the pro game and taking risks while he does it.

Curious how everyone overlooked this until you brought it up.

    :deal

There is some merit to it though when only taking technical skill into account.

He's not overrated. The guy oozes skill. He clearly has p4p number 1 level skillset, but Gaymon is running a ducking session at featherweight. Outside of a mandatory, I don't see him putting Lomachenko in with his fighters.

Lomachenko should move up after this next featherweight bout. He's severely forgetting that unifications are not common in boxing, and of course, ducking is all too common.

    No, if anything, he's underrated.

The man's only loss was against a roided up cheating Mehican who punched him in the ***** 200 times and managed to get a SD.

Loma is without a doubt the greatest talent in boxing right now.

He's definitely ducking Rigo and Walters.

And the loss came only in his second pro fight as well.

When it comes to overall boxing skill he's ahead of the likes of Floyd and Pac.
Speak to any successful boxing trainer about Lomachenko. Guys like Ward, Bradley have publicly talked about copying/learning from Lomachenko. Roy Jones has him as top 5 p4p already.
He is a boxing genius, a complete fighter. If you can't recognize that he's easily the most skilled fighter in the game then you simply don't know boxing. It's a shame Walters ran and Rigo wasn't serious, when Lomachenko beats the best you'll understand.

That was agreed to, Rigo pulled out because he thought he wasn't earning enough. Rigo undoubtedly ducked, I'm a big Rigo fan so it pains me to say it but that's what it is.

He's definitely legit, but I'd like to see him against someone like Rigondeaux.

Struggles with GRJ? He completely outclassed him. I get your point yes, he is getting overrated. But be consistent and don't invent facts to prove your point.

I think people are looking at his performances against non-stylistic threats and are assuming the same will be the case vs elite stylistic threats.

That remains to be seen. I will like to see how much he has worked on effective aggression and point-scoring (recent fights prove his development, yet not prove sufficient establishment of these facets with regards to fulfilment of potential), as well as fighting on the back foot.

In terms of his actual ability, he's unquestionably better than Mayweather and Pacquiao.
