I am going to provide an answer that should be satisfactory for anyone that possesses critical thinking ability and boxing sense. Race motivated posters will find these points to be unsatisfactory, but that is of little consequence.

Q: Why did GGG's team turn down Ward's offer?

    A:

GGG is in a unique position. His mandatory spot to WBC trinket has a lot of people worried, mainly Cotto, Canelo and their perspective handlers. Both Cotto and Canelo are big money fights, I am talking PPV big money.

To bribe GGG, GBP offered him a sacrificial lamb, namely Lemieux, so that Genady would be willing to step aside for 1 fight. Canelo is confident enough to face Genady, and his team is trying to build GGG into a star for an amazing showdown between the two.

Cotto's team is not as sure. They want to milk the Puerto Rico - Mexico rivalry for all it's worth, ideally going for a trilogy. They know Genady won't take another step aside - not unless he is given another lamb (another belt perhaps). Since they do not have another fighter GGG would be willing to step aside for, they decided to use another asset - Ward. Ward is not earning them any money, and is a clear favorite against GGG; if the fight between them was to materialize, Cotto would be free for a Canelo rematch, Ward would finally earn his team some money, and GGG issue would be temporarily under control. Naturally, only a complete moron would accept this deal, and the only issue I have with K2 promotions is that they even bothered waiting 36 minutes to reply. I would have told them to **** off the moment that childish offer was made.

Now, my response is not up for discussion. its the undisputed truth, based on my understanding on business, economics and the path of least resistance.

If you think it was done because GGG is afraid of Ward, its on you. Pro boxers do not think in terms of fear, they think in terms of risk/reward. This is a simple optimization problem.

The offer was a promise to fight sometime in 2016 at 50/50. Nobody accepts those types of offers because the landscape and marketability changes. And so far the forecast looks like GGG value goes up while Ward stays where he is. Its Business 101 and I would accept any fan of Floyd "Money"Mayweather to understand this.

If that's your opinion then that's fine, but unless a guy is trolling I don't see how they could seriously think that was a solid, good offer that K2 should've accepted.

What offer? The whole article shows Roc didn't have time to make any type of offer or discuss, splits, location ect... So what are you guys talking about.

As far as the Mayweather comparison Mayweather got to where he was through actual work and skill, not hype for beating nobodies.

"Roc Nation was never afforded the opportunity to discuss weight, the financial terms, potential dates, which fighter was the A-side or any other factor - because their offer was turned down in 36 minutes."

explains everything, ggg wants absolutely NOTHING to do with ward.

The offer that roc nation and Andre Ward himself say the sent to K-2. Are you now saying there was never an offer made?

Yea an offer to start negotiating a fight, something that was turned down without discussing money, location, weight or anything else.

Literally the only detail from Roc Nation was that they contacted K2 about discussions for a fight.

GG doesn't want anything to do with Ward. I didn't need an article from ****Scene to know this.
