    How tall are you?

Boxing is a hard, grueling workout. It can GET you in shape but you have to be prepared to put yourself through hell.

You're 238 lb and flabby? You could be Wilder's opponent right now.
Practice your check-jab and you could be WBC's next champion :good

depends on what you want to accomplish.

If it's just to fight at a pro level -- sure. Get in an amateur program, take a couple of years to learn the fundamentals, have a few AM fights and then turn pro.

If you want to be a world beater and "champ"...well, that's gonna be more difficult. The best guys start when they're kids so the basics become second nature when their taking punches. It's sort of like how learning to play an instrument is harder as you get older. You just don't soak up the material as quickly. annnd...

The guys at 175-200 can bang -- and most of them will have started younger than you...but go for it. I mean if you don't like it you can always stop and if you find you can't hack it that's nothing against you (despite what a lot of people say/imply they wouldn't be able to achieve much in the sport either).

Yeah, and if you find a coach that is willing to let you compete within a week - take a hike. (and warn people off visiting that gym, because that coach is a dangerously irresponsible moron)

IMO he could give Al Haymon a call. He has an excellent chance of becoming Wilder's next opponent! Fits the profile exactly! :rofl

Okay then. For what it's worth, that's a 29.4 BMI. Not considered horrible. Just somewhat overweight, not obese.
