I don't believe Jackson hit as hard as Benn.

    Are people serious?

Jackson, at MW, is MILES AHEAD of Benn (who should crack) in terms of punching power.

As i recall the punch that Eubank knocked Collins down with, was to the body but was ruled a slip.
I don't think Jackson would blow the irishman away so it's going to have go the distance.
    Jackson on points

Tripe. At 154 he was a nice one-shot artist (mostly speed, accuracy and timing rather than raw power). He couldn't put away Tate or McClellan or Taylor - they were too big and strong. Benn didn't have timing or accuracy, or Jackson's speed (though Benn's counter right was short/sneaky), yet he punched guys head over heels with raw power and natural leverages. When Jackson struck a man, they were still standing until a delayed effect due to the chin/temple points being struck. Jackson was a devastating 154lb one-shot artist, granted.

But nobody hit like Nigel Benn. He broke one trainers wrist with a right hook in Fifth Street Gym, a guy who had held pads for Ali.

Bringing up the fights that were the beginning of the end for Jackson: Tate (who was knocked down and fought to survive), McClellan (who was almost impossible to knock down. Make no mistake, Benn did not knock McClellan down, Bleeding on his brain caused him to take a knee. And several sources previously discussed in other threads have discussed that McClellan began having these problems immediately following his war with Jackson), and Taylor (Jackson was flat out done in that fight. I know. I sat ringside), are no indication of Jackson's punching power. What those fights do show is that in his mid 30s after several retinal detachment surgeries, Jackson was not always able to land the bombs he used to. But, to question the punching power of Julian Jackson is simply a ludicrous and indefensible position. He is clearly one of the most murderous punchers in the history of boxing. If he had a chin to match his punching power, he would have been unstoppable.

Nice post. Jackson scored several one punch KO's at middleweight in World Title fights

I don't how these brits. on here can forget the Graham ko. Graham was a top notch fighter, barely losing to McCallum and Jackson was able to do this to him.

Nobody is questioning Jackson's one-punch knockout ability!

You did. You said he was a one punch ko guy at 154 but not 160.

Benn was a good puncher, but he didn't have the one punch power Jackson had.

Benn broke a trainer's wrist. But, what fights at 160 against good competition did he show devastating power. Granted, he stopped Barkley on the three knockdown rule. But, other than that, I can't think of any. Watson simply waited for him to punch himself out, then destroyed him.

    He had it.

    Benn did not

Therefore, Jackson punched harder than Benn

    I didn't.

You don't quite understand my friend. When you strike the chin or temple points at the right time at speed, where the opponent doesn't see the punch coming, it does not require as much pure punching power to knock them down - they fall through lack of consciousness, not through the force of power. Benn hit noses, ears, cheeks, tops and sides of the head, anywhere, so wild it allowed them to brace themselves but so fast they couldn't get out the way, and they went flying! He hit harder than Jackson.
