If you are thinking of competing then 6 minute miles should be you aim over 3 miles
I loved running when I boxed but Barry Mcguigan now says sprinting is better.
I think doing both has benefits

I do running to build my stamina and overall conditioning for boxing. I do sprints from time to time as well during my jogging

Look up the Maffetone method. Your objective should be to stay under your aerobic threshold while running, in order to avoid glycolysis. This way you don't take a massive acid bath every time you run.

^^^ will do so too. thanks.

For the longest, I used to just jog, like about 4 miles in about 32 minutes. However, I've read that jogging isn't relatively very beneficial (especially in terms of toning up as you lose weight), so I just do jog-sprint intervals from now on.

High intensity interval training (HIIT) seems to be all the craze now. I'm starting slow though: jogging on standard 400 m track for 2 laps, alternating full speed sprinting on 100 m straight portion of track and jogging on curved portion of track for 3 laps, and jogging for 2 laps. Currently and patiently waiting for desired results...

Don't worry about what other people run.
Just try to gradually beat your time each run. Even if it's only by one minute.
I have no doubt that you can reach the 30 minute mark within a few weeks or a couple of months of consistent running.

Good luck, and keep us posted on your progress.

I aim for 10 minute miles for longer jogs and Im usually there or thereabouts.

For shorter jogs (2-4 miles) I aim for 7 mins per mile.

Just takes time building up. As Speechless has said, just aim to better yourself.

The energy system you use going on long slow runs isn't relevant to boxing fitness. It will also drain your energy (good if you want to lose weight - muscle and fat) and make you less powerful.

Develop your stamina by boxing, fitness is very specific to the mode you use to develop it. Running, cycling, swimming is just a way to get some fitness while giving yourself a break from boxing. Running has the most transfer to boxing, and you'd want to be running repeat 400m sprints to emulate the energy demands of boxing.
Of course most boxing trainers think you should be running all the time, that's just tradition speaking from the days where people believed running could strengthen your legs.... You wanna be fit kid.. just RUN! We're a bit smarter than that now in most sports, boxing still lags behind a bit.
Hit the bags and pads and don't waste time becoming a runner, use that time to develop your physical capacity (strength/power) instead.

    That's bull****.

Type 2A fibers are red and store mitochondria. This is not a discus throwing event.

If you avoid glycolysis, the fat will come right off, plus your body stores mitochondria and formulates an aerobic base.

There are a lot of studies about this. In fact, the Russians have experimented with training only the alactic and aerobic capacity with a tremendous amount of success, while their athletes maintained their strength.

What's the purpose of taking an acid bath when you work out? If you can avoid it, you should avoid it.

Absolute nonsense, not going to waste time on you. For EVERYTHING you do you are using all energy systems, you can't switch them completely on or off. Pick up a basic physiology book you tool.

I think my max is 10 min/per mile. Not great I know, but I haven't run since I quit smoking and started boxing, so maybe I could do a bit better.
