Can you name a single middleweight GGG refused to face? You almost make it sound like he is avoiding the who's who of his division when in fact the who's who are avoiding him.

Though I do believe the great Michael Nunn would put on a boxing clinic against Golovkin but gets caught late and knocked out.

Golovkin is the real deal, but it no way Nunn was some kind of hype job.. At his best he had some great skills. A true slickster that would give GGG absolute hell.

Please. I think GGG definitely gets too much guff for his level of opposition, considering he can't get anyone at at the top of division to even say his name, but his run of opponents is nowhere near the run that Nunn fought. Not even remotely similar. If there were guys at that level on the scene today and were GGG to beat them, he'd get a ton of credit. But there isn't.

Are you also hoping these youngsters are unfamiliar with who those opponents are and where they were in their careers?

Starling - Career 5'8 welterweight who never fought at 154 that jumped two weightclasses and retired one fight later.

Curry - Excellent ww and jmw who was at the very end of his career losing to the immortal 23-9 Rene Jacquot before fighting Nunn and going 1-3 in his last 4 fights, all losses by stoppage.

Barkley - Remembered because he was Hearns' foil, big, tough, good puncher, had some skills but overall just a banger. If somebody like Maidana is just a brawler than that's all Barkley was and one with less guile and ring IQ than Marcos.

Roldan - I absolutely love this guy, awkward, dangerous Argentinian banger with dynamite for fists but nothing more than that. Nunn was his last career fight.

Tate - Olympic Gold medallist, respectable titlist whose best wins were an old Sibson, Olajidy and Maynard.

Kalambay - Superb MW who Nunn one shot KO'd, career defining win. That said most agree it was a freak thing. Hold that fight 100 times and it would never happen like that again. Have a 10 fight series i don't imagine anyone familiar with both would be confident picking either guy as the ultimate winner.

oh and Victor Cordoba beat Nunn in their first fight not long after the Toney loss.

Not Golovkin's fault Sturm, Martinez, Froch, Quillin, Chavez, N'Dam, all side stepped fights when it was possible.

    Just saying..

Weren't Curry and Starling welterweights? GGG could beat Khan and Brook if you want.

I was a "second to" Nunn fan back then... like I'm a Golovkin fan right now.
It finally took a (probably roided up) ATG to finally take his O.
