I personally cant understand why the BBBofC have sanctioned two novice pros who between them haven't stopped a single opponent to fight an eliminator.
Saying that its not the fighters fault and they will cream it for all it's worth and fair play to them.
If John won he could then fight David Brophy possibly in an all Scottish fight?
    Good luck to both anyway

Helps sell the show the average fan will think he will get a british title shot if he wins.. The winner cud b put in another eliminator or a final eliminator.

But it's misleading the public into thinking either are near British title level at present

True mate i agree. Imo i think the board think their helping the promoter sell more tickets with granting it rather than the fight just being a 8 rounder.

I too agree Billy, John vs David Trophy for the Scottish title makes much more sense with the winner getting the Eliminator. I admire Leon McKenzie for giving boxing a chance but in reality he would be out his depth at English level imo but I wish him the best.

Any title fights on the horizon for David Brophy?

surely can't be far off a look at the Blackledge fight?
though I don't know whether Blackledge now being signed to FW would prevent this happening?

Take it you are fancying McCallum's chances in this one then?

Must admit, I've not seen much of either boxer. Remember watching an interview with McCallum when he first turned pro about him sparring in the wild card and he seems to talk a good game.

    Who's everyone got?

in all honesty David imo that would be the worst fight possible for John.
David would simply outwork, out speed and overpower him

It's just about levels in boxing nothing personal

    Not at all mate!! haha

i just think it makes more sense before a British Title Eliminator to have them both fight for the Scottish Title. I haven't seen much of John McAllum since he was a youth to be honest.

I think David Brophy would beat John on points but that is just on what I have seen from David but its hard to say when you haven't seen someone box recently.

I don't disagree with you, I was more trying to get the point across that it would be better for both parties to box for the Scottish Title and that would set up a British Title Eliminator better for the winner.

I personally don't think either John or Leon deserve an Eliminator but I suppose you take the breaks when they come! I really can't imagine either in the ring with Callum Smith/Rocky Fielding etc!! The would be massacred!!

well that's why I said "I don't know whether..." because I don't actually know.. It may have no affect at all, in which case it should be a easy too make fight & one which the fans would enjoy.

After watching Luke against Liam Cameron & Lee Markham I have to say I fancy him to have the beating of Brophy too!!
