Groundhog day - yet again we have a press conference to announce Andy Lee-BJS! The buzz has long gone out of this fight. For most people it'll be a case of "Wake me up when its over"!

Didn't think it could get any worse.

If you were O'Reilly, wouldn't you just think of going pro?

    PS He beats Spike now

PPS Wasn't there some talk of him possibly getting an Olympic place even if he came fourth?

Why are these events always held in Eastern Europe?

I think the next qualifying event (world qualifying) after the one you mentioned is in Baku aswell.

The Irish boxing writers/journos out there now could do a good job by pushing the IABA on what they're doing about the O'Reilly jobbing. Are they working on getting his a fourth qualifying place? Are they making any complaints? Even if they can't get any official response, it would keep the IABA active on it. Otherwise, the blazers could all too easily slip away quietly.

I remember it being in Belfast in the early 2000's, James Moore won a a bronze for Ireland and Haye and Froch won medals for England. No reason why it couldn't happen again.

Ward out boxed again. Don't think he did too bad in the first round despite losing it.

To be fair to Jimmy Magee, his commentary has improved about 1000% since the semi-finals. Someone must have had a word with him. Ward, not even close? Anyone think he can close that gap?

Joe relies on speed and reflexes to set him apart so when he meets a guy better than him in these areas, he cant do much. He beats anyone else so perhaps a fighter with a different style beats the Cuban-that as much as we can hope for.

Lads anyone know what happened Robeisy Ramirez? I always thought of him as the best amateur at any weight. Schooled Selby and Conlan at the last Olympics, schooled Alvarez in the Cuban nationals and then got robbed at the last World championships and hasn't done much since. Any word on him?

De La Cruz is the best amateur on the planet at the moment, Joe should of fought like Buatsi when he fought Cruz in the first round, he just went for it, throwing wuld hooks constantly, he caught Cruz with a big one but he recovered, I think if Joe caught him like that he wouldnt get back up.

Hope Joe stays amatuer at least till the next Worlds in 2 years, hard to belive he is still only 21, 2 time European Gold and now Bronze and Silver in the Worlds at 81kg which is a lot harder weight for young lads to win medals in.
