Boxing unlike UFC is behind in the times with promotion ability, they simply wont promote womans boxing they don't even promote the mens like they should. I don't follow womans boxing and don't know any fighters outside the ones I personally know who will turn pro at some point soon. Looking at the rousey surge it may help boxing to revive it,but again behind the times is always going to hurt them. if you are not familiar with any Woman fighters in boxing, than boxing is not doing its job its that simple,we the fans shouldn't have to go goolgling names to see where they are!
The biggest pull in Boxing (Floyd) makes WWE tame in terms of how much of a circus his act has become.
I love WMMA, only a fool wouldn't for even other reasons..i forgot you cannot really think ahead before you post....and yea..the woman fight harder usually being they are less composed in fights just like Boxing, you get two competitors trying to knock the other out with disregard to stratedgy...again you wouldn't know anything about what constitutes a good fight anyway appararently. If you actually ever saw a waomen fight where they beat the living shyte out of each other in boxing or MMa you would actually see what im talking about but insist in being the dummy you truly are...:yep
She beat Tate and from there went on a roll defeating everyone easily. Her looks also helped obviously but it was also WMMa was not on the map and not even popular in boxing. She gained publicity being guests also on t.v shows, advocating MMA..media exposure etc....She also took the espn fighter award from Mayweather recenrtly which catipulated her i think even more th the movies she did. In short she took over a spot light that generated interest,WMMa was anew market and she became the face of it.
WMMA is not new at all. Smackgirl was around since 2002. Megumi Fujii was widely considered the best fighter ever. Termite you're a noob.
My opinion is that Zuffa rarely promote the fighters anymore, but when they do, they BLOW UP. GSP, Brock, Chuck, Connor, Rousey... Once Zuffa got behind them, the hype machine went into overdrive. Pettis, Mendes, Alvarez, Cerrone, Condit, Lawlor - ALL of those guys should have got the same treatment as the above but never.
:deal Add hyped in a division as deep as a puddle. The women's Muay Thai is much more interesting and is getting better in the US over the last couple of years.:deal
Any right minded person is disgusted by the sight of woman fighting. Ronda Rousey's popularity is just another sign of society becoming increasingly degenerate and dumbed-down. WMMA is a freak show, there is even a tranny monster now fighting as a "woman":barf.
Irelands Katie Taylor who is a 5 time World Champ in the Amatuers and Olympic Champ will go pro when she wins her 2nd Gold medal in Rio, she will be a pro star, not really into womens boxing but this girl can fight, really good style and very quick.
Aren't we missing the fact that Holly Holm was the Women's boxing equivalent of RR? Obviously not as popular but a dominant athlete in the sport. She suffered in popularity because major networks didn't broadcast her fights. I'm looking forward to this up coming bout and I'm not a huge MMA fan
