Morrison knocked the fart out of Ray Mercer.

Golota threw nice combos to the body.

Jesse Furguson beat the gas out of Douglas with impressive body shots.

Foreman had a savage body attack. A body blow near lifted Cooper clean out of his boots.

Kooneys left to the body was nasty.

Tyson Fury is the best body puncher in years. He knows the importance of body shoting and he will bring it to Wlad like nobody has done before him.

He stopped a few guys with body blows coming up the ranks. Destroyed Rogie wit one perfectly placed and pretty much ended Cunningham with a uppercut to the plexus. He appears to be a lot more dangerous downstairs than the head.

No problem bud. It's obvious he's never sparred before. Watch him lie and say he has.

If there was a gold medal in 7 degrees of Wlad, you would be wearing it.

Nope...we are comparing who would stand a better risk of being hit when throwing body punches the longer or shorter fighter,if you actually put on gloves you would know this answer anyway...

"Doesn't matter your body type. When you commit to the body you're leaving yourself open upstairs." Sangria :patsch

'Swarmers generally beat boxers because of the contrast in styles. Boxers prefer to maneuver at long range while a swarmer crowds him, smothering his punches as he forces his way inside where the boxer is less comfortable. Examples of swarmers beating boxers are Harry Greb W 15 Gene Tunney (Tunney won 4 of 5 but he was bigger and one of those wins was controversial), Marciano W 15, ko 8 Ezzard Charles, Jake LaMotta W 10 Robinson (Jake lost 5 of 6 but Robinson far superior- LaMotta’s style gave Robinson trouble though), Joe Frazier W 15 Muhammad Ali (Ali wins 2 of 3 but all tough fights), and Phillip Holliday W 12 Ivan Robinson. Swarmers often give boxers trouble even when they are nowhere near the same class, such as Carmen Basilio beating Ray Robinson W 15.' Monte Coxx

who I generally don't agree with but it says the advantages in distance right here ABOVE!

The shorter boxer doesn't have to protect his body so much. The taller guy has trouble getting his punches down there. Plus once inside, the shorter boxer can rest his forehead on the taller guys chest and work the body among other things like using inside leverage such as tying up arms or other little inside shots like uppercut to sternum or mid section area.

AGAIN. The taller guy has trouble getting his punches down there! This is boxing 101

    Just remember....

That's also a hell of a way to get slammed with an uppercut.

not really ,if you stay close to your oppenets chest he has to back up and to land that,an experienced boxer will see this positioning coming. Ruddock was great at doing this for a tall boxer ,that's how he knocked Morrison down in round one .not many tall boxers will land inside uppercuts, bowe is another boxer who could do this.

I had a few hundred amateur and a few pro fights and trained several fighters and I always felt that long rangy fighters were brutal body punchers properly trained. I have seen skilled short fighters outbox skilled tall fighters and swarming a taller fighter isn't just putting your head in his chest it is still alot of skill, high energy conditioning and strength to succeed at it. Infighting is infighting short swarmers like Mancini couldn't swarm a boxer like Bramble without getting beaten up on the inside. Hearns hit like an SOB with body shots and threw some serious punches mid range. Toney was a great infighter but was not a swarmer or a real puncher.

You are talking serious B.S. when you say that a shorter fighter is less vulnerable to body shots from a tall guy that is pure stupidity.

What you are quoting are super generalized "rule of thumb"opinions swarmers beat boxers, boxers beat punchers and punchers beat swarmers which resembles Frazier, Ali, Foreman fights.

You have no clue what you are talking about if you believe a shorter guy gives up more body! This is not pure stupidity...I even quoted Monte coxx ,and you didn't even know that b/c you don't even know he is,so i'll leave it at that!

Style are suited for different ones, but its the fighters ability that counts,it still doesn't change that a shorter guy on the inside has an advantage in defense in closer...again this is boxing 101.

Lets just throw out logic since hearns was a good tall body puncher,we'll jusr erase the VAST majority that would literally prove you wrong here....

"I had a few hundred amateur and a few pro fights and trained several fighters and I always felt that long rangy fighters were brutal body punchers properly trained"...

and this proves that a shorter inside fighter doesn't have an advantage how? The average FOOl on here may believe that being longer for body punching is an advantage over a shorter one" THERES MANY AROUND HERE " however ive fought myself and been around combat sports longer than you believe me if you want to play the I did this game, you have the wrong guy!

C00ney could definatly body punch, hes also an example of being to tall for his own good for better body punches in which I was explaining to someone else and then SCHOOLING another, anyway his height limited him to the body punch,he really had to work that angle at 6'6.

'Gerry ****ey could rip to the body, but he was too big to get under Holmes jab to get to it" Coxx

This is also a prime example of why the MAJORITY of better body punchers were of shorter stature, and they could land more frequently as well.

'You are talking serious B.S. when you say that a shorter fighter is less vulnerable to body shots from a tall guy that is pure stupidity"

See this quote above obviously it is not mine...it is not mine because it is false!

It is false because its basic physics and moreso common sense that the swarmer/aggressive/pressure fighter will have less target on them close up....point being....the Marcianos/Tysons/Fraziers etc...etc...are the ideal ones...Morrison is a exception as he fought like a Tyson ,new how to pivot and really rip into someones sides almost at any angle.

Wow, those are examples of swarmers v boxers! Well thanks for enlightening us we we would never have known that.
