Goliath and David sold out MSG. Does this say that GGG is more popular than Ward, Broner, Thurman, etc. Probably only Canelo is a bigger draw right now in boxing in USA.

It says it's a fight people want to see, even if it's probably over within a couple of rounds. :toney

It shows HBO's hard sell and hyping of Golovkin has worked. Golovkin has been patient, fought regularly, fought who was willing and able and put in the performances and it's paid off. He's made himself amenable to the network and promoters suggestions and he's reaped the rewards. He's clearly a bigger draw now than the likes of Ward, Kovalev etc.

If his PPV sells well and pulls decent numbers the ducking of Golovkin will end, people will queue up to face him because he represents a good payday.

It's also about Lemieux and particulary his knock downs of (a decent contender) N'Dam. This wouldn't happen if he fought someone like, dunno, Dominic Wade. But still it's impressive.

It says... If you have genuine talent, power and entertain boxing fans they will come out in thousands to watch you.

I'm delighted for them both, hope they both earn a bundle, it is a good fight, one Lemieux didn't really have to take right now so fair play to him.

Firepower sells and yes, Golovkin is more popular than Ward.
Golovkin is fighting for the third time this year, Ward has only had three fights in the last four years.

Nobody disputes Golovkin is more popular than Ward, (not even Ward fans) hell HBO put every ounce they had into attempting to turn him into a in house boxer attraction that they can control.

There may be 13, actually. I could have sworn that the old bum at the bus stop muttered "I like Ward" in between swigs of Ripple. The Ward hype train is building up steam!
