Guy had some pretty darn good victories. Of course I'll need help with making a list because I don't know the status of a lot of his opponents at the time, ie. who was ranked when he beat them, etc.. But here's a start of a fairly decent list:

    - Jimmy Bivins
    - Gus Lesnevich
    - Lem Franklin
    - Turkey Thompson x2
    - Al McCoy
    - Lee Ramage
    - Al Ettore

Well that's a start. I don't know enough about the rest of the men he beat to know if they warrant listing. He also recorded draws with Maxi Rosenbloom and a young prospecting Lou Nova.

Great fighter. Couldn't handle Louis's straight right but outside of that he could box with anyone from his day.

Bob Pastor was a greatly underrated smallish heavyweight who beat impressive fighters and gave Joe Louis many headaches no doubt. But what does it say about the great LH Billy Conn who stopped Bob Pastor while administering a severe beating to Pastor ?

And what, in turn, does that say about Teddy Yarosz who defeated Billy Conn whilst past his own prime?

That's right. Major wins prove nothing.

It says a few things Mc
!- Teddy Yarosz a great boxer lost 2 out of three decisions to
Billy Conn, whilst Yarosz was still in his prime. The last fight Yarosz at age 28 lost to Conn and ONE year later Yarosz at 29 was still good enough to beat the surging Archie Moore.
2- Billy Conn was still a young rising middleweight when he lost to Yarosz. Billy made his great reputation later on as a great
lightheavyweight. The billy Conn that battered Bob Pastor and
Lee Savold, Gus Lesnevich, Melio Bettina and gave Joe Louis fits for 13 rounds though outweighed by 28 pounds, was the second best fighter Pittsburgh ever produced following his earlier idol Harry Greb...

Good question. Never seen any of them myself so I'm not sure what's available. Haven't done a YouTube search either. On paper it sure looks like one hell of a win list though for whatever paper is worth.

Exactly burt....it should be enough to convince the naysayers that Conn was the Real Deal.
