Williams wins via KO. Williams had wicked power that Norton probably couldn't handle.

I also predict very little public interest in this match and a low attendance figure.

 

If Williams came out bombing like he did with Liston then he stops Norton.

If not Norton stops him, they were about the same size and KN could bang also,

 

LeDoux and a shot Norton drew in Ken's last bout with Scott dropping him twice in the last round and missing the tko win when the ref stopped the bout early, but again it was Ken's last bout.

 

Big cat bangs on and stops a hurt Norton fairly early in this intersting match up.

 

Norton beats Williams comfortably I'd think.

Kenny was much more proven at a World level, had better wins, a better resume and was a flat out better fighter.

Williams has a punchers chance sure. But his mythical power simply didn't exist against the higher echelon of opponents he faced and in fact there is more than a few ordinary fighters who took him the full route even before he was shot and lost a kidney.

Norton was good enough to give ATG's like Ali and Holmes fits and beat solid guys like Quarry, Stander, Clark, Bobick and Young. He was crushed by Foreman but Williams is no Foreman not even remotely and all his other KO defeats bookended his career when he was either green or totally washed up. For the vast bulk of his career he was a solid, tough elite fighter something Williams never really was.

Norton gets sold very short in these h2h match ups these days.

 

Good sum up. Both Ken's and Joe Frazier's chins get sold short a lot in some quarters because of what happened in their fights with George Foreman. And yes,Williams was no Foreman. He did give Sonny Liston a good go but very much like Ron Lyle against Foreman,he lost.


Norton's chin was solid enough even though not the best. Muhammad Ali and Larry Holmes were n't big bangers but were hardly feather fisted either. Ken stood up to their best shots very well.

 

I think Norton would outbox the big punching cat.Nortons lean away style which gave Ali trouble would likewise cause the cat to go even more on his front foot.
