    That fight should happen as Fonfara was a outskilled and a bit slower but still managed to almost force Stevenson out of there late rounds. Fonfara is a gamer man, he never gives up and you can see he's a student also as he improves each fight as his career progresses. Any fight involving him is exciting, yet you can see he's not just a simple fighter. I can tell you that when he was being trained in Poland most coaches did not picture him on the world stage and said he was too limited. He actually was back then, but his desire to improve inch by inch was just relentless, until he proved those trainers wrong.

    Yeah, tactically he's not too clever at all. Having a trainer who is basically just a strength and condition coach doesn't help. Freddie Roach actually wanted to train Cleverly after being really impressed by him when he sparred over at the Wild Card against Lateef Kayode.

    Both are B level fighters who were taking turns unloading their shots and then covering up. Have they even heard about countering ?

    Oh STFU they covered up plenty but both were in the pocket and both throwing lots of accurate and good leather. Guess you like your marathoners, as per your handle. BTW, one of those B level fighters had Superman on the chopping block.

    I understand it, and I also understand Cleverly could have arguably won it 7-5 as well. Fonfara got the win because it was in Chicago its as simple as that. Most of the swings rounds I noted even with Fonfara the cleaner work was being done by Nathan.

    Why? Fonfara is respecting the memory of the Hussars. Most people don't know about this force so good on him. Fonfara (and Clev) is a warrior so it's fine. Now, if someone like Golota walked in the ring with the Hussar gear I'd be laughing and shaking my head.

    Cleverly won that round, he did the better work in the first half and it was more of a brawl in the second.

    It wasn't a draw. Your scorecard was so far off. You gave Cleverly five of the first six rounds, and in reality they were considering stopping it in favor of Fonfara after the ninth because Cleverly had taken such a bad beating.

    Fonfara landed more shots ... and the far harder ones. Officials were considering stopping the fight before the start of the last three rounds because Cleverly's face was destroyed.

    Cleverly took a beating that guys often never come all the way back from.

    If you slap a guy five times, and he hits you back six times and nearly rips the nose and ear off your head, it's not an "even" round.:good
