Depends on how Lemieux fights, but I expect Golovkin to take his time and knock Lemieux out in the mid rounds..................Golovkin has a superior boxing IQ......................
I have a coupla queries about Golovkin. Monroe and Murray showed him to be very hittable when he's in 'I'm gonna dominate you' mode. They couldn't take advantage of that. I don't think I've ever seen Gennady uncomfortable, but I have seen him demonstrate some bad habits because he's so set on being dominant. He has gotten away with leaving his chin open on the inside, and his arms wide, while trying to keep his opponent on the ropes. If tonight is Lemieux's night, he firstly needs to be completely relaxed and genuinely hungry to win. MSG v Golovkin is a big ask, not to be awed. If he's done his homework and can get Golovkin's early respect, the opportunity to pop a couple on GGG's chin might make things very interesting.
Here's my prefight summary and betting prediction for tonight's Golovkin vs. Lemiux fight: http://tinyurl.com/o7bjtfw
The ref gets knocked down in this fight. Both go over to help. Touch gloves and carry on, the ref is fine, he has a better chin than Amir Khan.
Lemieux survives the first half of the fight but makes it interesting and gives GGG a couple of scares. GGG gets the stoppage around 7-8.
