He should if Lemieux couldn't continue. If that was the case I just don't see how they could've rule it any other way.
I think we'll see him against Kovalev sooner or later (assuming they both keep winning), but I think Ward will stubbornly hold on to the slim hopes that he might be able to somehow land Golovkin, still. And I don't think that's likely to happen at all, unfortunately.

Golovkin clipped Lemieux when he was down after crumbling to the canvas after taking a mean looking body shot. He caught him pretty good when he was down, too. It was a crisp shot.
Some of the left hooks Lemieux landed show me Ward will land plenty as that's his punch I do think GGG does better than Froch but that's not necessarily a good thing
Honestly, that's my problem with it. You get these "milkers" who'd take advantage of the situation and Lemieux could have done the same tonight. But luckily for us he had more honour than that.
