GGG leads head first with no defense, though he'd probably take Wards punches no problem, can he deal with the strategic hit and Holding style Ward would implement? GGG would be a fish outta water taking power punches from a man who most on here is regarded as a pillow puncher, while getting decisioned on the cards UD'ed..Sowwey

Ward. He is not as powerful but he is still very strong, in the gym all the time and his skill set is above GGGs.

Ward would make Golovkin's already apparent baby fat face swell up into a giant strawberry flavored lollipop.

 what hugging and head butting:lol:

Both fighters have a completely different skill set, both elite and its wrong to claim Wards is above Golovkins.

Hell Golovkin just handled a top 5 160 fighter with ease yet it took Ward longer to get rid of a fighter who is a natural 160 fighter, who isnt top 5 in the UK and made him step up 2 divisions:lol:

Golovkin weighed in at 168 on the night, there is n reason for him to move up. Ward last fought at light heavyweight, tell your boy to grow some boys and fight Kovalev and/or Stevenson.

How does feather fisted ward manage to achieve that without having his own face rearranged?

Froch, Kesser and Abraham who are vastly slower than ggg looked fine after 12 rounds with that fraud.

Only that fat waste of space Paul Smith standing right in front of ward with no head movement whatsoever managed to get his face smashed in.

    Golovkin.

    1) Ward has no power.
    2) Ward hasn't faced a fighter of Gennady's caliber in years.
    3) Gennady punches harder than EVERY opponent Ward has had.

Makes me laugh how we are discussing a MW vs a LHW.

Typical Ward, though. Wants the fighters above and below his division to meet him in his division, even though he brings zilch to the table.

I think that Ward has the skills to extremely trouble Golovkin. But I 100% would not rule Golovkin out. GGG has amazing spatial awareness and distance control through very good footwork and a very strong jab. If Ward couldn't overcome that (which I give him a good chance to, but who knows?) then GGG could take him home. However Ward's size and strength advantage along with skills I think will push him to a win. GGG seems harder to smother and spoil, which Ward excels at, than a lot of fighters from what I've seen of him so far, because he's not a reckless 'throw it all' style. He's very aware of what he's throwing.

I think it's a match that definitely needs to happen one day, because no one else I think of appears to have the skills to stand a chance at this stage with Golovkin.

Ward peppered all three. Gennady has a face that doesn't hide punishment. It swells and bruises easily.

And lol, Golovkin is very very slow. He'd have to put on a few pounds to fight Ward and that'd make him slower. He'd be walking into hooks, uppercuts and straights all night.

Also Gennady cannot hurt what he cannot hit.

    :rofl

You sound like Ward is Willie Pep.

What you should have said is you cant hit when a man has your arms tied up and is hugging you to death.#

Tell me why is Ward eager to fight a guy who is comfortable fighting a weight below him yet not willing to call out the guys at light heavyweight?

ward could win an ugly foul filled decision, but if ward is denied the ability to clinch and headbutt, I think he gets taken out. GGG has a damn good jab that lands like a right hand and does great body work on the inside where ward might look to be most of the time. Ward has an inch of height and reach (plus weight advantage) and knows how to spoil a fight. Also, how well does GGG carry the weight up and how rusty is "tuneup" ward? 50/50 to me right now.

considering lemi was not even close to winning a round, got knocked down and tko'd id say landing at a 27% connect rate shows a lack of defense (which he makes up with by having one of the best offensive games in the sport but the numbers still point out what he is lacking)

    Ward would spank him.

    Ward-Kovalev is the real fight.
